It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I agree with Bessie and Lacey. Eastwick did not get enough promo time. Desparate Housewives was the first to promote with bits of the whole season. That’s what made you want to see the show.
They did it in a way that didn’t give anything away, but made people excited to see the first episode. A lot of people didn’t get involved in the beginning because they didn’t want to start in on the middle of series. They need to promote it more, rerun the first season and PUT IT BACK ON !!
I will miss Eastwick too. It really irritates me that networks are constantly pulling shows. As far as I’m concerned this show failed for two big reasons. The first, the was not nearly enough advertisement for the show…the only advertisments I saw were those little ones that would pop up on the t.v. screen while watching the show just before it. Secondly, people get discouraged (and don’t know what the heck is going on) when shows don’t air every week. i totally agree. you just get started watching a show and then after a few episodes you can’t find it and have to search the internet just to see if it is cancelled because the networks are too gutless to inform the public (airing it with the show some how) they are cancelling the show.

I wish this show would have been run on one of the cable channels, such as TNT or FX. They seem to know how to promote, advertise, and let you know what is going on with a show you love so you don’t miss it or waste your time getting hooked on a show that will suddenly disappear with no explanation. This show did not get enough promotion. I found it by accident. There were several times something else was on in it’s place. Ugly Betty, yuk. Please give it another chance. I can not imagine the show not being a hit if everyone knew about it. I NEVER saw it advertised. Was it ? Why do you think people are looking for it on the internet. I hoped you had just moved it to another time. Canceled, you’ve got to be kidding.
I think part of the problem was bringing in Ms. Shepartd. I don’t think she has ever been able to act herself out of a paper bag. There are many other older actors out there that could have been much better in the new role. Dealing with the backround of decades past was a good idea. Needed to bring more of that forward. I thought the rest of the cast was doing a fantastic job and will miss the show very much.
I loved this show. Much better than shows like Ugly Betty and many others. I agree with the fact a little more excitement should be added. I dont think the show got fair exposure and think it should go at least another season.
I think that eastwick is ten times better than some of the shows on …. it does need some more excitement it is dull at times almost slow but when there is good part well it’s awesome just doesnt seem to be enough good parts to keep it moving at the pace it should for a supernatural show. I would to keep it on my got to watch wed night tv shows but the networks are dumbass pricks that keep shows like ugly betty forever

I loved this show. And the least they could do is at least wrap it up for us. They leave us on a total cliffhanger that seems like a season finale, but we don’t get to find out where it was going after that? I hope that they decide to put it back on or another network takes it. Why does this show not make it, but some of the others that suck get to stay on?

Why do they always take off the good shows at least to me, and this is the 3rd. show that the one with the black hair i forgot her name that was cancelled she star in a past show with Brook Shield and another lady that is now on another show and that is very sad i would like for this show too come back on. Now Ugly Betty is going off in April or March of this year i also like this show too.

I absolutely LOVE Eastwick! My husband even loves it, it’s been our Wednesday night routine. What a terrible disappointment. It’s such a unique show with mesmerizing characters. Bring it back! Please.
