It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I am sooooooo upset about this show being cancelled. I loved this show. What is WRONG with these people. Who exactly are they getting their information from, about who is watching and who is not? Neither I, nor any of my friends, have EVER rec’d a call from the Neilson (sp) people. Are the cable and satellite people providing them with this type of statistic? I truly hope they get their act together and put this show back on the air.
I think Eastwick is failing only bcs there is too much to watch on Wednesday nights. I personally love the show and haven’t missed an episode but there really is 5 shows we watch that night. They should try to switch it to a Tuesday night where there isn’t much on to watch………it’s worth watching.
@ Robert You are the one that looks stupid for assuming that ABC, or for that matter any company that cares about their brand image, isn’t surfing the internet looking for these types of blogs, forums, posts, etc. People are hired just for that purpose, it’s called PR control. What I find ignorant is reading rude comments by users like yourself. Let people have opinions and let them voice their concerns, regardless what venue they use.
P.S. And to replace Eastwick with UGLY BETTY……blows are minds! Hideous.
My Husband and I LOVE Eastwick! EVERY episode has been wonderful. It is the 1st show that BOTH of us would rush home to see. I cannot believe their ratings were so low. I am shocked. We loved the characters, the story line, everything!
I’m disappointed that ABC cancelled this show* this show was different than the all too many so called reality shows* it was funny and the story line was getting really interesting* the actresses are great and I love Jerry O’Connel*

I am very disappointed that ABC is canceling Eastwick. With a cast like this you can’t go wrong. Maybe you should just hire new writers and give these ladies another try. And it’s about time someone brought Paul Gross back to tv.
My husband and I loved this show, he thought all the girls were hot, but he loved to watch this show. I guess now were going to get some crappy show in place of it; way to go ABC!
You know that really makes me mad! I loved that show! Jerry O’Connel had just came on to it and it just left you hanging. There hasn’t been any kind of TV show on with witches on it since Charmed and that was over 5 years ago! I think that ABC should reconcider this decision!!!
why do you keep cancelling all the good shows and replacing them with stupid ones. for one there are WAY too many stupid reality shows with nothing but bickering and back stabbing crap on them or with MORE cop show. there are plenty of them. eastwick was a nice change with humor and a different kind of story line. move it to a monday or tuesday night, there isn’t anything good on those nights anyhow. eastwick i think is a little like desperate housewives, not the story lines but the humor and drama. please try it in another time slot.
I love this show…I hope they decide to keep it around for another season. The show left us with a cliff hanger and I sure would like to know what happens. I will keep my fingers crossed…..

Not sure what age group enjoyed this short lived tv series the most, but I thoroughly enjoyed every episode and wish ABC or some other network would pick it back up! I have never written a blog, or comment on a tv show before but this was so good. Bring it back, oh, and by the way I’m a senior citizen!

Well you used to be able to watch the show on Hulu.com but then they stopped that but now I’m thrilled to announce that you can yet againg watch the show on Hulu.com even if it’s only the first 6 episodes. Also you can put the first (and only) season on your “save” list on Netflix. Hope this helps!
