It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

Eastwick is one of the best shows i have seen in a long time. Was my favorite show. Watched it from the time they aired the pilot and then watched the pilot again. I recorded it every Wednesday. I couldn’t wait to watch the show and did as soon as possible even knowing that my husband was going to want to watch it too, so i watched it again with him and the kids. PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME ITS NOT TRUE… i watched every episode, on the tip of my chair, i loved the cast and the intensity.. i was very sad when they had the country music awards interupt a week and then janet.. but tuned in every week to watch, its feb 17 2010 and i still am looking for eastwick, i think i finally got my hint, and decided to search.. i cant believe it. modern family is adorable too, but i wish they would have given eastwick enough time to let word travel because im super it could have taken… Read more »
I think they should bring it back and maybe put it on a night that other dramas are playing on abc . See now they call Wednesday night comedy night, maybe they could have a night of drama and move the time from 9 to 8 just to give it another chance. Here’s another idea, they could put all of the shows online for the ones who really enjoyed the show.
I loved the show and looked forward to it each week. It was new and refreshing! I can’t believe they cancelled it just when it was getting good. VERY Disappointed!
I am so upset that Eastwick has been canceled. I have been searching on my DVR trying to figure out when the next episode was coming back on-but could not find anything! Then I searched on google and found out that the show had been canceled-that stinks. I really was into the show and thought the story line was interesting. I wish ABC or some other network would bring back Eastwick. And of course they had to end it leaving me tons of ??..Like who is the little boy accross the street (it was getting really good)
I loved this show. I cannot believe the ABC “powers” canceled Eastwick. It is not difficult to see the show was in a congested time slot. One found it refreshing to see women in the role of power while very amusing at times. I really looked forward to it. All the while shows like the Bachelor, “V” and Flash Forward continue the next season. These shows are for the intellectually and emotionally challenged! Why is it that the ridiculous reality shows are still on and the shows that actually provide some entertainment are taken off the air? I really miss this show. It was one of my favorites. I hope it’s brought back!
Just been trying to watch in UK but hard to do consistently. It was stopped over Xmas and they stopped repeating on Saturday so if I missed it, that was it, this made it hard to follow the story. it didn’t get advertised much for when it was actually back on either. Also there was the problem that there were just too many other good similar programmes on at the same day/time – why don’t programme planners think these clashes out more?? Ticks me off that this show went off the air! This was one of my favorites! I think its way better than some of the other shows ABC airs. I hope that you reconsider and bring it back!. You could at least give us some closure with a few more shows
I went surfing tonite to find out where this show had gone- now I know. It started off just a little slow, but the acting was good and it looked like the plot could take off in many directions. I’d much, much rather see this show continue, than I would seeing the trailer-trashy Bachelor reality series continue; a single guy, trying to find love and in the end, is given a key to a “fantasy suite” in order to have unmarried sex with 4 strangers. Hi Terri, I so agree with you. I’m soo sick and tired of reality tv. Its not even reality most of the times. We need more shows and dramas something other than teen shows and reality tv.
I loved this show too. Different and refreshing. I am very disappointed it was canceled. I looked forward to it every week. Bad choice to cancel. Shouldn’t upset the fellow witches of the world!
I loved this show! If they would have kept it going each week instead of lagging on end more folks would have tuned in. Unfortunate for ABC!
