The Family stars Joan Allen stars as Claire Warren, Alison Pill as Willa Warren, Rupert Graves as John Warren, and Zach Gilford as Danny Warren. Margot Bingham is Detective Nina Meyer. Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

How dare someone cancel this show??? This show should remain on air. What needs to be done to make this happen??? I will sign any petition to make this happen!!! This show is so captivating and kudos to the writer who wrote this show.
I finally found a show that is really well written and that I can follow. I really enjoyed it, and each new episode had a twist and can’t a person wanting more. The characters didn’t took a mile a minute. It should NOT have been canceled. It could have gone on for years with plot twists, etc. I hope ABC reverses its decision.
Instead of cancelling such a well made show with a great acting, consider stoping brainwash people with vimpires , werewolfs and dead people walking crap.
Please Netflix pick. This show up I enjoyed every eepisode kept u on your toes please give it a chance
Very disappointed that The Family has not been renewed! My husband and I both very much enjoyed the show! They could have tried moving the night before cancelling. There is such junk on TV anymore and this show was very well done. You’re wrong ABC
I love this show!! Every sunday i couldnt wait for it to come on to find out what was going to happen. I am very disappointed they are choosing to cancel the show. I dont watch much tv because its all the same stuff and this show was really exciting it kept me hooked for the next week. Maybe if it was advertised more others would have heard about it. i just stumbled on the show and it happened to be the first one. I am extremely disappointed that The Family has been canceled. I have been watching it from the beginning. I think the storyline was different and appealing, it was very well written. The possibilities for next season, (if only there was going to be one) would have been so good! All the good shows get cancelled.

this is the only show i would stay up to watch every sunday night. it was the only (series) that was intriging enough to keep you coming back. everyone at work talked about how good it was and now your cancelling it!!!?? very upset…
This was a great show! I followed all season! ABC could have at least aired a series finale that tied up all the loose ends! I’m scared to try another ABC show; I might like it and then they will decide to cancel it again. Poor management! Next time try a different day and time before making such a drastic decision!
I am very upset they cancelled THE FAMILY! The Family and Quantico are the only 2 series that I watch faithfully.
After watching this season and seeing how it ended, it definitely should’ve been renewed. I wanted to know what happens next after that phone call. There are many unanswered questions that are floating around; The Family was an intriguing show that shouldn’t have been cancelled so early on.
Please renew this show! It’s a great story.
