Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I have been watching this show from the start, it’s a great show with amazing twist. And now you are gonna cancel it right when the show breaks wide open??? Really!!!! I can’t help people have had taste in shows but this is a really good show can you not try another time slot or something. Maybe bring the season out on DVD??? The show will be missed I am also a big fan of Grey’s anatomy and Scandal and you had another hit on your hands, you should give it some more time….,,,,
So annoyed that ABC left us hanging. We watched this show every week and are so disappointed that it has been cancelled. Very disappointed with ABC!

Yes I think the story shall go on ., this was a good story. They need to bring season 2 out. I’m highly upset.
I loved the show and looked forward to watching it every week. I am very disappointed to hear that it was cancelled. Please reconsider bringing it back — there is some much more to do with the storyline.

Please don’t cancel the show!!! That was not a good series finale, I would like to see Adam cone take back his life and see him reunite with his family.
I am very disappointed in the decision to cancel the family ! They should at least try moving the show to another night first. ABC is making a bad move they should give this series a chance !
Once again ABC does something half…. The Family deserves to have a real ending instead of leaving so many questions unanswered. But what more can you expect from a network that lives by the polls.
What’s wrong with ABC? They obviously don’t care about their viewers or anyone working for them. You don’t start a series like that and cancel without a warning.
Really enjoyed The Family. I started watching and then my husband jumped in and started watching. So disappointed it has been cancelled. I rarely watch networks shows anymore, but Family was well-written. Please bring it back!
