Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I’m disappointed to learn the show is cancelled. I’ve looked forward to each episode and would love for show to continue.
Please do at least one more season. There are so many unanswered questions!!! My husband and I really enjoy this show…there is nothing else like it on tv. The low ratings were probably because the Walking Dead was on at the same time and it didn’t get as much exposure to non zombie viewers. Don’t give up yet!!!

How can this show be cancelled? I’m furious!! This is one show that me and my family looked forward too…now that Adam has reappeared, it would’ve been a helluva cliffhanger. But now…nothing! Disappointed. TV executive’s are clueless. Such a wonderful cast & story line!

This was not a good finale! What happened next? It was just getting so good…you can leave viewers like that! I really liked the show. I looked forward to it every week. Bring it back!
ABC you have really disappointed us….the family was my favorite show of all time and i watch alot of shows trust me….time to switch networks
Yes this show should have been renewed. There is so much more that could have happened in season 2. Since it’s not getting picked back up on abc the maybe some other network can pick it up. I really enjoyed this show…it gave me something to look forward to on Sundays. Please someone pick this show up for a second season.
Extremely annoyed that this show is being canceked. I do NOT feel it was given a fair shake. Big mistake ABC. I really hope either another network picks it up or ABC gives it another season. Show was well written and every episode captivating.

I don’t know why ABC will cancel a great show . You’re willing to disappoint over 3.2 millions you sucks for doing that I love that show and was looking forward to seeing season 2. ABC went for being great to trash.
