Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

Why is it every show that has any depth to it and actually makes you have to think gets canceled!?!?! I love a good sitcom, don’t get me wrong, but we have enough of those. This show offered something different, not your usual drama, no superhero’s, no crazy police chase scenes, not a lot of action at all really, just a good old fashioned make you think drama. Very Disappointing that the show is being cancelled. We really loved the show and looked forward to watching it every week. Not happy!
This show was so well done. Cannot believe it got cancelled!! One you wanted to watch every second so not to miss anything. So well written!!! The characters played their parts well. ABC has removed two of the best shows on air. What is going on! Really a shame.

Oh my gosh I thought Finally a smart well written show!! Loved this show ! Great storyline great characters!! Good suspence. I’ve looked forward to every episode of the show . Was so excited to watch finale!! But don’t leave us hanging!! Terrible if show is not renewed and continued!! There is so little good writing on TV these days. Thought ABC had finally maned up!! Very disappointed in ABC if they don’t return with further episodes of Family

My fiance and i’s new favorite show, very disappointed to see cancelled. Hopefully they will change their minds..the finale was soo good and leaves you wanting to see more!!

With their dropping the viewers like this, ABC is now the new Fox. I no longer watch any Fox shows until there is a second season; now I have to put ABC on that same list.
