Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I’m very upset that this show is cancelled. Every show I get into on ABC, they cancel it. It’s a shame, they should have at least waited till the reunion of Adam and the Warrens.
I have been watching this show. I don’t think it should be cancelled until all the questions are answered. The finale opened the door for more questions to be answered..You can’t leave it with open questions and no answers. I have enjoyed watching the show.
I was so disappointed to hear the family was cancelled. I loved the show. It was suspenseful and very well written. I hope ABC reconsiders
It was one of my favorite shows. I am disappointed with it ending. I certainly hope they have a closure to all the lose ends. I am all for a short season miniseries but a good closure is comforting.

After watching the finale I am so very upset that there will not be a next season. I hope Netflix picks it up and continues. This is honestly one of the better shows on ABC.

It should definitely be renewed. I watch on DVR because I don’t get a chance to watch live, but I love, love, love the show.

ABC, you have got to be kidding?? What was once my favorite station has turned into the once I will watch the least. First Castle (though that was somewhat expected), Nashville (which I have watched religiously from the start) and now The Family which you did not even give a chance. Try a different day or time slot. What ever happened with Secrets and Lies another well written show that has not yet made it back on the schedule.
I’m so bummed. This is a great show. Blood and oil was good too but they just keep canceling Thierry shows. It’s really just so messed up how ABC can’t keep a show airing to build more viewers!

I am disappointed. I really liked this show’s twists and turns. I watched every week looking forward to the next. It certainly left off unfinished.
