Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I loved this show – great acting and good plot – ABC should sell it to Netflix for a season two for a few episodes so they to wrap it up properly.
The cast is awesome! Love Andrew McCarthy as an Actor:). Well written series. Cancellation seems premature.

This was a very intriguing show. Leaving it hanging the way it did was just a cruel joke on viewers. ABC continues to let fans down.
Please do not cancel The Family! It is honestly the best series on TV. Our family has moved away from TV series instead choosing to watch cable series like HBO, SHOWTIME, NETFLIX etc. The Family is the first TV series we have liked in a very long time! It is refreshing to watch a show where every elisode there is a twist that no one saw coming! If ratings are low it’s because marketing was weak! Agree 100%! I never watch basic cable dramas, but this show was an exception. It was like an awesome mystery novel where every week a new twist was revealed! 🙁
How many viewers do you think you need to not cancel a show? Honestly! You had millions! Deeply disappointed as clearly many others are. Can one of the other networks pick it up then?
Please do not cancel this show …I binge watch all the episodes I missed when I come home from college! It was really entertaining and addictive !

This is a fantastic show. Great story – Great acting. Finally a thriller/drama that is watcher worthy. I hope ABC reconsiders. There are viewers out there who don’t want this show to end.

Wow, ridiculous ABC. Ending a show on a cliff hanger like that? What a repugnant thing to do to your viewers. Just shows that you clearly don’t care about us at all.
