TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

It’s maddening to think these bozos cancelled a great show, while we still get all this ridiculous drivel called “reality” shows – most of them are just sickening garbage. I think Goofy would have made a better decision on this, not to mention Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.
One of the best shows on TV this past season and its cancelled? Sounds like ABC who owns Disney must have put Goofy in charge. Did the brass even watch the show? ABC should have had it at a better time slot and lets face it time slots really don’t matter anymore with hulu and tivo and taping to watch at a better time. Netflix should grab it. I can only hope it gets picked up by someone else and becomes a 10 season winner. A great cast of characters and a great story line. Someone needs to make the… Read more »
Mike I couldn’t agree with you more!!! I’m hoping Netfix will pick up this incredible show!!! Be a winner!!! ABC did not even give it a chance. As we can see Forever has a very large fan base!!!!
What a bummer! I loved the show – recorded it so I wouldn’t miss it. Please bring it back.
Shock..there must be a stronger word. So in love with the show, the relationships of the characters certainly kept my husband and myself coming back for more. Lucas always wanting to be Harry’s friend, the tease of Harry and Dect Martinez relationship and of course Judd Hirsh is the perfect son. We kept looking for the date of the season premier but instead a slap in the face for a dedicated fan. Ioan, if you read this you were amazing as Dr Morgan, you took the character and made it your own. I even told my husband you would be… Read more »
EVERYONE NEEDS TO CONTACT NETFLIX…THEY SAY THE MORE THAT CONTACT THEM, THE MORE THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT. NETFLIX IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW SHOWS!!!!
I have just learned that Forever was cancelled and I am sooooooo disturbed by this decision. The show was charming, entertaining, mature, sophisticated, unusual, and so many other adjectives! If you wanted the show to succeed then why in hell did you place it at the 10pm slot opposite Person of Interest? For the working person, 10:00pm is a very difficult time slot. TV shows are often ignored to prepare for the next work day, which comes even earlier when you have kids. I’m fortunate to have DVR. Not everyone has this! Bring the show back! I hate all the… Read more »
It’s so surprising! My husband and I both loved the show. One series we enjoyed watching together. It’s sad people would rather sit down alone and watch some idiotic meaningless reality show about people we don’t care about living unreality like lives.
ABC has made a very big mistake cancelling Forever. It’s the only show smart enough to replace Castle when it ends next season (you know this is their wrap up season). The acting, the story the characters were all excellent. Kudos to the show, my wife and will miss it. Shame on you ABC for wanting dumbed down programming to show your audience, which will shrink by 2 more very soon.
I liked this show. Please renew.
This is such an awesome, amazing show that is so well put together. My husband and I are so upset and disappointed. We hate all of the reality TV and really looked forward to watching the wonderful actors portray their roles each week. It was our favorite new show. Please bring it back.
No, it shouldn’t have been canceled. It was the very best series in the 2014-2015 season. Engaging and entertaining – excellent casing. Noting else compared.
Please bring Forever back. It is one of the best shows I have ever watched
It’s a shame this show was cancelled. It was one of the best on television. Why is it that all the good shows get cancelled? It seems the networks think all people want to watch it stupid reality TV. This was a GREAT FAMILY program. Sad day when the good shows get cancelled and the crap gets kept on.
“Forever” was too smart a show for the demographic that advertisers crave. Ioan is a great actor, and the supporting cast was very good. The fantasy concept didn’t have enough drama…it would have helped if Henry had experienced various supernatural activities while “dead.” The leaps from costume drama to present day New York let us know who Henry was, but few threads from the past (i.e. his wife whom he married in WWII turning up dead at a remote, wooded area with a cute little house) didn’t connect us to him well enough. He was so “Gee Whiz” and enthusiastic… Read more »
loved the show. ABC did not promote the show enough. the story lines were great. Could not get enough of them. Always watching the reruns because I miss the little nuances. Enjoyed it the second time just like the first.
I am so shocked. I just found out that they are cancelling Forever. I absolutely love this show. It was a show that I watched every week with my 10 year old son. We truly loved it. It was a show that I could watch with my son that wasn’t to crazy. It was very interesting. I am so upset. I wish they would reconsider. There aren’t to many great shows on TV. It was so different and the fact that Abe was his son was so intriguing to my son. We had a lot to discuss about this show.… Read more »
