TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Best show on prime time but you cancel it. Thanks…………….I still have galavant and the goldbergs. Smh….. What s joke. Let’s give anither season to that crap rather a show that actually takes some imagination to write. I’m done with Abc!!!!
Forever should not be cancelled. It is a great show and we watch every week.
Unbelievable that you would cancel a show with great characters and plots every week. The writer kept my interest in every episode. Shame on you ABC.
typical, you actually have a show that is interesting, not full of gossip, adultery, slander or other crap. so, what do you do ,you cancel it. why would you keep a show with great writing, acting, and fantastic plots.
This is another show that should not have been cancelled. It was different to other police shows. Soon we will be just left with a collection of police and detective shows that are all the same. BRING IT BACK!!!!
“Forever” was a great show and I loved it! So did my family and friends all love it! The storyline was creative and fun to watch. The characters drew us in on the first night and the actors were great and had chemistry with each other. Please reconsider, ABC and give “Forever” a chance with a second season and hopefully many more to come! I love Dr. Henry Morgan and want to see if he’ll tell Jo his secret and eventually fall in love with her. Please continue the story and don’t keep us hanging!
Why, cancel, this was a refreshing change from “other” cop shows, it was fun, serious, a bit of everything. Forever had it all. ABC should rethink this. To leave it like this, with Henry just about to tell Jo….not right.
They really need to reconsider renewing the show…loved it…and want it back on.
Unbelievable….. As a guy who’s passion is TV shows…… Forever had it all….. It was a brilliant show and deserves more episodes. Abc owes the fans a conclusion. With soo much competition, these new shows need time to gain traction and I strongly believe it would have. Way to cancel one of your best shows to date abc…. Look past the now and look to the future and what it could have been.
Wow what a great show . Cancelled, really! How about a different time slot. that is one of the worst time slots for nearly every show that has aired there. Also he was finally going to tell Jo his secret and……. this will be the longest cliff hanger ever! please give it another try…..
This show should never have been cancelled. It is one of the most exciting, touching and heartfelt show, that has an exceptionally funny/poignant plot twist with Henry being Abe’s father that I just love. It makes me laugh every time and it touches my heart in the same beat. You people are fools to get rid of this show. Especially when you have the nerve to put on such mind numbing trash as “Mistresses” and “Nashville” Give me a break! Who do you want for your demographics? Obviously you don’t want anyone with over a high school diploma! (if even… Read more »
Cindy you hit the nail on the head. This show is Family Friendly too. Even though he is a Medical examiner. I love the comedy and the action and drama all rolled into one. Now that is what I call a show.
Forever was a great show! Wonderful story and great actors! I am so sick of getting into a show and then it is canceled! It seems to happen a lot on ABC!
great show, omg ABC PLEASE DONT DO THIS !!! THERE IS NO OTHER SHOW LIKE THIS
Please reconsider, me and my husband and my kids love the show. We made sure not to miss one show. I loved the fact of every show was different and kept us guessing.
