TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Both my husband and I fell in love with Forever. He never watches TV series. He’s a news junkie, a history fanatic and loves adventure. Forever was a blend of all the things that we both like on TV: history, science, romance, suspense and intrigue and family-friendly. Henry is the MacGyver of his field. I loved his passion, attention to detail and ability to see things that everyone else missed. We had been waiting all season for Henry to tell Joe his secret, see what her reaction would be and hoping a romance would develop. The acting was superb and… Read more »
I called Netflix and they said if enough people request it, they will definitely look in to it. They are customer driven. Hit them up.866-579-7172
Why are good shows cancelled and those offensive reality shows renewed? Who makes these decisions? Forever was so creative with excellent story lines and an amazing cast. So disappointed in ABC.
I was soooo sad when I heard they cancelled Forever. It was a show that my teenager daughter and daughter and I could watch together. Very disappointed in ABC’s decision. Not reay sure what they were thinking. It was a fun show to watch! The characters were fantastic! #SaveForever
I loved the show. I am not sure why the cancelled. They should have at least let us see joe’s reaction to henry.
In the era of pointless, mediocre, mind numbing TV, ABC had a unique, intelligent gem and threw it away. They gave up on Forever long ago, when they failed to promote it. Ioan Gruffudd’s Dr.Henry Morgan was someone I cared about, hoped for the best for and he and the rest of the wonderful cast deserve better.
No, Forever should not have been cancelled. “It’s a long story” and we deserve the rest of it!
Be sure and call Netflix and ask them to pick up the show Forever. They need to keep getting calls. So we have a chance of getting Forever back
This is truly the best show I have ever watched. The acting, writing is excellent. Should have another chance
.
I am sad and disappointed that ABC cancelled a brilliant show like Forever. This was THE BEST SHOW ON TV and some moron decides to cancel it. Please renew FOREVER! It should have never been cancelled in the first place.
I agree with all the posts. Forever is and will alaways be my favorite show. ABC you made a mistake when you cancelled show. It had amazing stories to tell and the actors who told them are one of kind cast. I loiked forward to watching every week. Now i have nothing to take me on a wonderful journey.
Please renew, I love it. t is a great show.
Forever being canceled is a huge mistake on abc part! The network failed the cast & crew with no promotion and crap timeslot. If this show doesn’t get picked up elsewhere it’ll be like Firefly all over again.
Forever should not have been cancelled. Everyone I ever spoke to about it only gapped be to come across it because it was not being promoted but they were instant fans of the show. Some other network or Netflix or Hulu should really concider picking up Forever.
Please save forever ABC did not give it a chance
I am so tired of reality programming! ABC truly dropped the ball cancelling Forever. It is an amazing show with so much potential to grow into a huge audience like CSI and NCIS…hint hint on more successful stations. We don’t need another episode of bad dating and horrible social skills on The Bachelor. Forever was brilliant. New, different. Please recinsider. Give it the Bachelors time slot#
Forever definitely needs to come back!
