The Simpsons had the biggest gain of the week but its season average still sank. After a couple weeks of declines, Glee was up this week. Unfortunately, its way down when compared to the start of the season. The performance episode of American Idol was down yet the results show was up. Traffic Light sank again. How low can the sitcom go before FOX pulls it?
Which FOX TV shows will be cancelled or renewed depends mostly on the series’ ratings, particularly the 18-49 demographic. Before we get to the season-to-date averages, here are the winners and losers from April 29th through May 5th — based on the coveted demo, as measured against the last original episode.
Week-to-Week Gains: Fringe 1.3/4 (+8.3%), The Simpsons 2.7/8 (+17.4%), Glee 3.7/11 (+8.8%), American Idol 6.3/20 (Thurs, +10.5%), and Bones 3.2/9 (+14.3%).
No Change: Raising Hope 1.8/5 and Breaking In 2.4/6.
Week-to-Week Losses: Kitchen Nightmares 1.3/5 (-18.8%), House 2.9/8 (-9.4%), The Chicago Code 1.6/4 (-11.1%), Traffic Light 1.1/3 (-15.4%), and American Idol 6.6/19 (Weds, -7.0%).
Below is a list of the regular FOX TV shows and their 2010-11 season average ratings to date. It only incorporates the ratings for original episodes and not repeats. The data is sorted by the all-important 18-49 demographic averages. The closer a show is to the bottom, the more likely it is to be cancelled. Fridays and Saturdays are the least-watched nights of TV so those shows get lower numbers.

Aside from House which is excellent….. how do you know a show is good and on Fox? Because they cancelled it way before it could develop into something worth seeing or they cancelled it to early. I loved Human Target

Stupid Fox and CBS are canceling some of my favorite shows!
The Cleveland Show should NOT have been renewed, it’s not funny. Family Guy is aging, and Human Target shoud not have been cancelled. FOX are idiots.
