In its pursuit to find shows with better ratings, CBS has cancelled Friends with Better Lives, the new Monday night sitcom.
Friends with Better Lives follows the lives of six young people who are at various stages of their lives — married, divorced, newly engaged, and single — with each wondering if the others have it better. The cast includes Majandra Delfino, Kevin Connolly, Brooklyn Decker, Rick Donald, Zoe Lister-Jones, and James Van Der Beek.
This new sitcom debuted at the end of March, following the series finale of How I Met Your Mother. Not surprisingly, it drew solid ratings.
Unfortunately, when Friends with Better Lives returned in its regular timeslot a couple weeks later, viewership dropped more than 25%.
The ratings dropped lower after that and the most recent installment hit a series low with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demograpjic with 4.92 million viewers. For CBS, that just won’t cut it.
The network ordered 13 episodes of the sitcom and five have aired so far. Two more are still on the schedule so it’s unclear right now if the network will end up releasing the rest.
What do you think? Do you think that CBS should have cancelled Friends with Better Lives or renewed it for a second season instead? Will you keep watching?
Please please bring it back. I love this show.
I looooove this show 🙁
please dont cancel this show it’s hilarious!!!
It’s the only show on TV I look forward to watching outside of sports and re-runs of older sit-coms. Looks like I won’t have anything to watch again for a while.
This show is so funny, I role on the floor laughing. The execs at CBS must not have a sense of humor. Please give the show a chance, guys and gals! The first episode alone has given me and friends new inside jokes and gestures, e.g. “birthmark” and the hand circling the face — it is classic!
My wife and I are so mad. We love this show. We absolutely laugh so hard each episode. CBS is making a real crappy decision
CBNS is not giving this show a fair chance. This is the funniest sitcom to come along since Big Bang Theory. The cast interaction is fantastic. Not an episode that doesn’t make you laugh out loud. Please keep this very funny show. If you need to get rid of a sitcom, think about 2 Broke Girls and their canned abrasive jokes and bad delivery.
Love this show! How is the word supposed to spread if after 5 episodes its gone? Give it a chance. Tired of shows being canceled so quickly, usually why we don’t watch non cable channels but was looking forward to this because of the cast
Only just started watching this show. Watched all 5 episodes in one night….my sister and i absolutely LOVED it! It was laugh out loud funny and we were so excited…and then we read that its been cancelled!!! How disappointing!
PROBABLY THE FUNNIEST SHOW ON T.V. RIGHT NOW!!! Taking it off huge mistake. Let people get into it. Sometimes you have to give things time to grow.
Leave it on. My wife loves it.
This show is very funny….Too bad. Hope another network picks iy up!
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!! MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF LOVES THIS SHOW!!!!! CBS YALL NEED TO GIVE SHOWS A CHANCE BEFORE YALL CANCEL THEM!!! YOU WILL LOSE A LOT OF FANS THAT WAY!!!
VERY FUNNY!!! LEAVE IT ON
My wife & I loved Rules of Engagement. When that was canceled, we were hoping for a solid replacement and we thought we found it in FWBL. It’s frustrating to get to know characters & relate to them only to have the show cancel. Maybe we should just stick to NetFlix shows so we can watch a whole series without it canceling. Thanks again CBS!
Yes I agree with you Rules of Engagement was a great show. BUT THE BIG WIGS OF CBS KEPT FLIP FLOPPING IT! Sad they kept Two and a Half Men on With Charlie it was funny. They put Kutcher in and it was not nearly as funny. Yet theykkept that show on. Kinda ridiculous.
Pls don´t cancel the show, this is a great show
