In its pursuit to find shows with better ratings, CBS has cancelled Friends with Better Lives, the new Monday night sitcom.
Friends with Better Lives follows the lives of six young people who are at various stages of their lives — married, divorced, newly engaged, and single — with each wondering if the others have it better. The cast includes Majandra Delfino, Kevin Connolly, Brooklyn Decker, Rick Donald, Zoe Lister-Jones, and James Van Der Beek.
This new sitcom debuted at the end of March, following the series finale of How I Met Your Mother. Not surprisingly, it drew solid ratings.
Unfortunately, when Friends with Better Lives returned in its regular timeslot a couple weeks later, viewership dropped more than 25%.
The ratings dropped lower after that and the most recent installment hit a series low with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demograpjic with 4.92 million viewers. For CBS, that just won’t cut it.
The network ordered 13 episodes of the sitcom and five have aired so far. Two more are still on the schedule so it’s unclear right now if the network will end up releasing the rest.

Just learned Friends with Better Lives has been cancelled. CBS should have given this show a chance. It funny and well written. This show should have been renewed for a 2 nd season and let it find it footing. I believe viewership would have grown.
I really love this show. I believe it has the potential to be great. Please don’t cancel that. At least consider to sell it to other channel

Watched it once. That was enough for me. Found Mixology a lot funnier and entertaining. But that too is cancelled so I’m giving up on network TV.
CBS what is wrong with you??? most of the great shows started slow then after one FULL season and BOOM HIT…. that’s what you have here and I’M 49 MY SON AND HIS FRIENDS ARE 19-23 OR SO AND THEY ALL LOVE IT. WHEN YOU HAVE TO PAUSE A SHOW BECAUSE YOU ARE LAUGHING SO HARD I THINK THAT SHOULD SAY IT ALL.

FWBL has a great cast and it is super funny. Since its debut, I’ve looked 4wd to it each week.
CBS is stupid, plain and simple. Instant hits are rare and pretty much don’t exist with the age of the PVR. FWBL was hilarious and Intelligence was just developing it’s story. Canceling both shows is premature and the wrong moves.
Sad to see this go. It was really entertaining. I think it needs more marketing. It much better than most of the garbage I see on TV. It is a shame they cancelled it….ABC where are you…pick this up!

This show is hysterical. They should definitely renew. I don’t understand why they would cancel a perfectly good show. Hopefully, someone else will pick it up!
Honestly at first when I saw the previews to this show I didn’t think it was going to be funny but it turned out to be hilarious, me and my wife actually enjoyed it, we didn’t miss it at all on Mondays. CBS should at least consider selling it to another network to keep it going or if not give it another chance.
