Tonight marks the season finale of Gang Related on FOX. It’s been a season of twists and turns but have the ratings been strong enough for the show to be renewed for a second season — or will it be cancelled instead?
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.
The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers. That was a poor showing right out of the gate and, over the course of the season, the ratings have gotten even worse. Last week’s episode installment hit a new low with a 0.6 demo rating and just 2.01 million viewers.
The season’s averaged a 0.8 rating with 2.56 million. Compared to the network’s other summer shows, Gang Related is performing well behind MasterChef, 24, Hotel Hell, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Though expectations are lower for summer series, it’s highly unlikely that FOX will want to renew Gang Related for a second season. The ratings are just too low — and they’ve essentially been getting worse week after week. More than likely, the execs will roll the dice and try a new program next year.

Here is a thought dumb American Idol this show is way past retirement! Keep Gang related please and while you are at it the Simpsons is well past it’s prime. FOX you were just starting to come out and show your WOW factor with such good shows such as Bones, The Following, 24 and I look forward to seeing Gottham just when you think you will be getting there with Gang Related and now maybe cancelling this show! I really hope not….

Fox should renew the show!!! It started a little slow but it picked up! I can’t wait for the next season!!!
This show should absolutely be renewed for a second season. The finale set things up in a way that makes me very interested to see where it goes next. I disagree that the plot is a forgone conclusion. The writers can take things in completely different directions. Also, the song at the very end of the finale (Ticking Bomb by Aloe Blacc) could not be more perfect. Fantastic cast, fantastic plot, fantastic writing, fantastic show.
Gang Related is a good show, please renew for season 2.

BOY! maybe TNT or FX should pick this show up have it on before SOA! Fox this show is your BOOM factor.
Oh I sure hope Fox does the right thing here and cancels Honey Boo Boo or Rookie Blue instead as this show. This is so above your other crap shows I mean really bump one of the others and put this in another time slot to keep going…….This is not your typical cop show either I really thought Fox was coming out to the BOOM effect like TNT with this show and if they yank it guess FOX is going to lose a lot of followers for sure I will be taking to social media about it for my opinion… Read more »
I LOVE THIS SHOW AND IT WOULD BE A MISTAKE TO CANCEL IT . IT FIGURES THAT JUST WHEN YOU LIKE A SHOW IT GETS CANCELED !

FOX PLEASE, PLEASE renew this show get rid of your other dumb reality shows that are so worthless to even have on! Show the other networks change is here take the RISK rise above because this show ad the writing is just fantastic!
