Once again, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but we know the show wasn’t cancelled either. The network just kept the series on the air. Will General Hospital survive to see the 60th season for the 2022-23 network TV season? Could it possibly be cancelled mid-year? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting in 1963 on April 1st, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Actors appearing in the current season include Maurice Benard, Steve Burton, Marcus Coloma, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, William Lipton, Katelyn MacMullen, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Sydney Mikayla, Kelly Monaco, Ingo Rademacher, Wes Ramsey, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The 2020-21 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.35 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.12 million total viewers.

Nina goes better with Sonny than Carly does. Carly only thinks of herself. Nina was the only one who could see that Sonny was off his meds.
I love General Hospital!!!! I’ve watched it for 40 years. It’s a great show. It should never be cancelled.

General Hospital is unrecognizable. The writing is sloppy, and all over the place. In its current format, I think it should be cancelled. I seldom watch, and when I do, I find myself FFing through almost the entire show. There are no couples to root for. Whatever happend to “Love in the Afternoon”? The majority of the couples are senior citizens.
Which couples are “senior citizens”? How is the writing “sloppy” and “all over the place”. You offer a critique but no examples.
I started watching General Hospital from the very beginning in 1963 with my mother who’s now 97 and I’m 62! I Absolutely Love this soap!!! So please whatever you do…DO NOT CANCEL GENERAL HOSPITAL! I feel that I’ve been a loyal fan and I’m sure thousands…perhaps millions of other fans agree with me! It really hurts when cast members are no longer on the show…I love it when you bring them back. I’m praying that Jason will return( Soon). Carly, Sonny and his fans really truly miss him.
I think GH is safe through the 60th anniversary… mostly because ABC just wants the bragging rights of keeping a show on the air for 60 years. Not that they really care much about the show, considering they’ll use the most trivial excuses of “news stories” to interrupt the show, and leave no means for viewers who are not paid hostages of a cable company to watch those episodes later. I am love General Hospital for so long and the recent firing of Steve Burton and The Change-Up with Jason and Sam breaking them up I just cannot take general hospital no more and I hate to say this and I I wish they would cancel the damn show if they don’t bring back Steve and put Jason and Sam back together they should cancel the show because I refuse to watch it from they fire Steve I do not watch it anymore I think it’s ridiculous no
Steven got himself fired for not being vaccinated. It was his choice.

I hope this show gets cancelled. Killing baby Liam was the last, cruel decision by writers and they will be responsible for the fall out!
Really?? After all the boneheaded things they have done on this show since Valentini & the OLTL regime invaded in 2012, this is the thing that deserves cancellation?? Even the Devil hates it when kids get sick & die, but it’s nowhere nearly as bad as resurrecting the name of a dead serial killer & slapping it on to a serial rapist (who can’t use the name of the serial rapist anymore because of ABC’s legal difficulties) … and then excusing all of that monster’s crimes with a “brain tumor” so you can pair him up with Steve Hardy’s granddaughter.… Read more »

Jason can bring himself back. All he has to do is get vaccinated.
Guess what? The ratings have actually gone UP since Jason left. Luckily we are posting these comments on a website where you can actually see for yourself how the ratings have gone UP since Jason left.
I do NOT want General Hospital to be cancelled this year or any year. It is the one program on TV that helps to keep me sane, while the rest of the world is losing its collective mind. The people on this show have become like family that visits me every day of the week, and I don’t have to worry about what mood they are in or what I can or cannot talk to them about. Thank Heaven for General Hospital!!!!

it has made me happy. I have been laid up with a knee replacement and look forward to it every day.
Frodd died. That made me a little happy. And also when Whiny Heiny died. Problem is that he didn’t stay dead.
I’ve really got to increase security down here in Hell…. too many escapes lately.
