Once again, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but we know the show wasn’t cancelled either. The network just kept the series on the air. Will General Hospital survive to see the 60th season for the 2022-23 network TV season? Could it possibly be cancelled mid-year? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting in 1963 on April 1st, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. Actors appearing in the current season include Maurice Benard, Steve Burton, Marcus Coloma, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, William Lipton, Katelyn MacMullen, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Sydney Mikayla, Kelly Monaco, Ingo Rademacher, Wes Ramsey, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, Laura Wright, and Dominic Zamprogna.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

I think they ruined Sonny, I think the whole Sonny and Nina thing is ridiculous. Sonny has not cared about his family since he got back from NF. I don’t understand why they continue to push this ridiculous storyline when 95% of fans are against it. I want to see Carly and Sonny back together again. I wish that Sonny would see Nina’s true colors come out and for him to finally understand what his family was talking about. I think abc should be fined every time they interrupt General Hospital plus General Hospital’s ratings aren’t correct because abc makes sure not to show it. Why don’t abc change the time slot for ge real hospital?
General Hospital would do better if they brought back Steve Burton as Jason and reunite Jason and Sam, it would do better if they ended this ridiculous Sonny and Nina storyline and stop ruining the character they made Sonny into a pathetic loser sorry to say but it’s true. I have completely stopped watching General Hospital because I can’t stand Sonny with Nina. It would be great if you brought Jason back also.
Love Sonny with Nina. Sonny & Nina is beyond tired.
Definitely keep it on the air. However, please hire new writers! A smart guy like Sonny behaving the way he is just ticks me off and it is so out of character. Nina has to pay for what she’s done and not be portrayed like a victim. Also Jason and Luke should never have been killed off. Please, please, please write better storylines – also not so dragged out.
GH should definitely be renewed. The writing needs to be picked up and better storylines. Just because a few bad apples don’t like what’s happening on the show now, is NO reason to cancel.
I watch every day! I would be heartbroken if they canceled.
I would hate if General Hospital got canceled, it’s the only soap I watch, just get rid of Esmeralda and kill off Ryan Chamberlain, watch and for all.
I use to watch GH over the years, just tune in and update. But when they decided to Kill off Luke Spencer for no reason at all, other than ratings, and to see if Luke would again appear. I gguess that is when I decided to never watch it again. And Haven’t. So I do hope they take it off the air. It is pitiful to watch it die….By the way the highest ratings they had this year is when it did center around Luke…
The writers have messed GH up over the years because of their story lines. Please it hasn’t gotten any better, the only time the ratings went up a little bit is when they decided to kill Luke off. And that did it for me. Now the mayor and the mob boss are the one’s in charge. Give me a break, I wish I felt better about the story lines but it is not there, I see nothing at all constructive. Sorry

GH use to be good, I couldn’t wait to watch, now I haven’t watched in over a year, sorry to say but gh is terrible and not worth watching anymore a lot of fans have stopped watching and are fed up, storyline drag on to the point where you don’t care, nothing makes sense breaking up beloved couples like Carly and Sonny not having people like Nina pay for their actions show history being changed ruining characters like Jason most of have had enough. Renew, it’s the only one I watch!
The longevity of GH is due to the fans love of characters and history. The love and attachment to the show explains the generational fans, like myself. I started watching in the sixties with my mom. Over the years there is has been ups and downs in storylines with the 80’s hitting the top for storylines. Fans turn off when they see storylines being written so poorly. Since the COVID break the writing has been inconsistent, disjointed and completely disrespectful to GH history. Long time characters have been written out of character. I seriously can’t stand watching a flashback of what aired the day before! I can’t stand the pacing and division of characters into certain groups. I thought I was going to see Roger Howarth mix it up with the Quartermains and Cassadines more and why can’t he be paired with a woman around his age? He could have came back as a viable love option for Alexis. I’m just not into Austin and Maxie or Sonny and Nina.
Yes rebranding characters like Franco into a new character is just nuts. The fans are not idiots. We come to live the characters. Gaslighting us is disappointing. Bad writing. Bad decisions. Listen to the fans.
