Syfy has some new company. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vincent D’Onofrio and Kim Coates have joined the network’s upcoming TV series Ghost Wars.
From Nomadic Pictures, the supernatural drama is “set in an Alaskan town overrun by paranormal forces.” The cast includes Avan Jogia, Kristin Lehman, and Meatloaf.
Syfy has not revealed D’Onofrio or Coates’ roles, but the network has acquired 13 episodes of Ghost Wars.
From showrunner Simon Barry:
Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases. Science, humanism, religion and the paranormal all get a seat at the table. I’m grateful that [Nomadic co-chairmen] Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev have assembled such a wealth of talent, both in front of and behind the camera, to hopefully elevate this genre series beyond expectations.”
What do you think? Do you watch Syfy? Will you check out Ghost Wars?
Looking forward to checking this show out. The Syfy channel used to be one of favs… to me since Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, and Eureka was taken off they
really haven’t come out with many if any, shows that were that caliber. I did at one time enjoy Haven, but then the writing started to get a little bit too weird for me. They need to look at the formula of the past shows to see what worked.
