Are you ready to say goodbye to the Girl Meets World TV show on Disney Channel? Watch a promo of the Girl Meets World season three and series finale, after the jump. Disney Channel cancelled the Boy Meets World sequel series, earlier this month.
Girl Meets World stars Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Ben Savage, Peyton Meyer, August Maturo, Danielle Fishel, and Corey Fogelmanis. Several Boy Meets World favorites are returning for the Disney Channel finale including Mr. Feeny (William Daniels), Minkus (Lee Norris), Alan (William Russ), Amy (Betsy Randle), Eric (Will Friedle), Mr. Turner (Anthony Quinn), Shawn (Rider Strong), Harley (Danny McNulty), and both Morgans (Lily Nicksay, Lindsay Ridgeway).
Girl Meets World Series Finale, “Girl Meets Goodbye”
In Disney Channel‘s January 13th episode, fans learned that — thanks to Topanga’s (Fishel) promotion — the Matthews family may be moving to London. They need a lot of help to decide whether or not to make such a big leap, hence the return of all those Boy Meets World characters.
According to a TV Line report, Girl Meets World creator Michael Jacobs says early-stage talks are underway to take the coming of age sitcom to another network or streaming platform.
Speaking of the Girl Meets World cancellation, Jacobs told The Wrap:
“We are certainly having discussions, there are some interested platforms,” he told TheWrap. “I don’t think ‘Girl’ should have been canceled. We signed to do four seasons. I thought we would be able to tell stories through four seasons. That’s the way we set it up. It was going to be a remarkable final year. But I understand, things end.”
Jacobs said discussions are underway and there is interest from other platforms — like Netflix or Hulu — to continue the show.
Meanwhile, the Girl Meets World series finale airs on Disney Channel, Friday, January 20, 2017 at 6:00pm ET.
