ITV has renewed the Grantchester TV series for a third season. Is PBS likely to follow suit and pick up season three? In a word, yes. Consider Grantchester renewed by PBS, as well. MASTERPIECE co-produces the mystery series, which features the oddly matched Reverend Sidney Chamgers (James Norton) and Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green), as they fight crime and soothe souls in 1950s England.
In UK, the Grantchester season two finale just aired this week. In the US, the second season premiered on March 27. The third episode is coming this Sunday, with the second season finale (episode six) scheduled for May 1, 2016.
While an official announcement has yet to appear on the PBS press site, There is a post announcing Grantchester has been renewed for MASTERPIECE|PBS Facebook page. Check it out.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Grantchester TV show? Are you happy it has been renewed for a third season?
The ‘series’ is fine, but I’d prefer they stick to a Hercule Poirot format, i.e., let’s just solve the crime and do away with all of the personal angst.
I love Grantchester. I sure hope we will see another season. Great entertinment!
That’s great to hear. Love mysteries. Hope it keeps going. But, the love interest (the affairs ) a little much.
I am excited to see the future romance with Amanda. Can’t wait.
