Sad news for Grimm fans. Deadline reports the NBC series will end after its upcoming sixth season.
The drama follows homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who is charged with protecting humans from supernatural creatures. The cast also includes Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
Rumors that this would be Grimm’s final season have circulated since NBC only ordered 13 episodes for season six and Giuntoli said it could be the last season. Ratings for the series have never been particularly high. Season five received an average of only .89 in the 18-49 demo and 3.943 million viewers.
Season six of Grimm is slated to premiere on January 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
From NBC:
“GRIMM”: The final season begins Friday, Jan. 6, 8-9 p.m.
Closing out an incredibly successful series run and giving viewers a chance to say goodbye over the last 13 episodes, the sixth and final season of NBC’s drama “Grimm” will begin its last chapter with the battle fans have long been waiting for — Nick versus Capt. Renard.
The series, which reached the 100-episode milestone last season, has long been a fan and critical favorite, with the Los Angeles Times calling it “terrific and trendsetting… ‘Grimm’ has become a beacon of solid narrative and a weekly reminder of why monsters matter.” The New York Times said “Grimm” is “engaging, clever, tense, funny and well-paced, featuring a remarkably appealing cast.”
As for events leading into the final season, the nefarious forces of Black Claw have been silenced and Nick (David Giuntoli) faces an all too familiar foe in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now in the seat of power as the mayor elect of Portland, Renard is poised to bring rise to his own brand of law and order. Nick must take a stand to protect his city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). It will take the full force of Nick and his allies to find a way to bring the peace.
Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) grapple with bringing a child into a new and tumultuous world, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) faces unsettling identity issues as her former self lurks below the surface.
“Grimm” also stars Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee.
The series was created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and Stephen Carpenter. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner (“Hollywood Game Night,” ”Hot in Cleveland”) serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf. “Grimm” is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Are you sad the series is ending?
it is time to end this show.!! after a piss poor season 5, what was a show with a plot in 4 seasons, turned into a monster of the week BS show.!! they could have used trubel to bring younger viewers, GRIMM could have gone 10 seasons easy, but the writers blew it, the show lost 1million fans in 1 year.!! i hope that the last 13 episodes, get high ratings so maybe NBC gives them 13 more. BUT DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH.??
This show was one of the best to come along in years. The special effects and story line were second to none. With all of the “reality” garbage on featuring the most talentless, clueless people on TV, we got a chance to watch something great. Leave this one alone, and start dumping a lot of the other garbage.
Rating would not have been affected if NBC station aired it at the same time and at times days … That was that sucked. The show is greater than any reality dumb shows. Please reconsider. This show demonstrate how human beings from all cultures to come together despise our differences.
Really sucks. My dad watches it every Friday, alongside the CBS shows on that night. He’s gonna miss it so much.
I love the show and I have watched it from the beginning. I do not want to see it end. This will come to an end for me and NBC. I pay for cable and was very worried that I would miss Grimm . I would love to see the show continue on.
So sad!!! This is one of my favorite shows! I wish that it could continue on…
I am a really big fan. A great show—allows audience to see how differences are accepted. Everyone not painted with a broad brush as good or bad. Lots of diversity, and great storyline. I wish they would leave it on or send it to another network. So sad.
I’ve got ONE MORE comment .. why not take off SURVIVORR [stupid show], CRIMINAL MINDS [SOS EVERY EPISODE], GOLDBERGS [STUPID] AND LAW AND ORDER [SOS EVERY EPISODE]!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
??????????????????????????????

I am sorry it ended. I was a loyal Grim watcher
Love love love Grimm, please do NOT end this show… look forward to watching, can’t get enough of the series.. would watch this to season 100.. my daughter is also hooked.. please do not end! Thank You!
I love all the characters on Grimm – which is why it has been a staple in my viewing schedule. Monroe is my favorite. He embodies both the dark and bright sides, but works very hard to make his good side the dominant one. He’s tough and experienced with evil, yet plays cello, fixes clocks, does Pilates, and adores good wines and vegan foods = the perfect man, and an excellent role model. Gosh, I’ll miss him. I’ve enjoyed that the diverse characters are able to come together as close friends and keep widening their circle to include more people.… Read more »
