NBC is not grim about Grimm. While it hasn’t yet decided whether to cancel the Grimm TV series after season five or renew it for a season six, NBC’s Entertainment Chair, Robert Greenblatt, sounds more positive than negative about the fate of this fantasy police procedural drama.
Greenblatt spoke to The Oregonian‘s Kristi Turnquist during the TCA winter press tour. As quoted below, it sounds like the Peacock Network is more fond than not of this Friday night fright-fest. Brimming with Wesen-ality, Grimm stars: David Giuntoli, Russel Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner, Silas Weir, Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Claire Coffee, and yes, Bitsie Tulloch.
From OregonLive.com (emphasis ours):
Will “Grimm” be renewed?: The ratings have been down so far in Season 5. When I asked NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt about the show’s future at the recent Television Critics Association Winter 2016 Press Tour, Greenblatt said, “We like ‘Grimm.’ It hasn’t been renewed yet, but it’s a show we love, and it’s actually a big international success for our company.” Greenblatt added, “I think ‘Grimm’ isn’t going anywhere. Which is a hedging sort of statement. We haven’t decided. But we like ‘Grimm.'”
Airing on Fridays, which is traditionally a low viewership night, especially for the advertiser-prized younger segment of viewers, “Grimm” picks up viewers via delayed viewing, Greenblatt said.
“I think the numbers have gone down a little bit because of that,” he said. “But there are some really great ideas for future shows. ‘Grimm”s OK.”
But as Greenblatt said, that’s not a confirmation of renewal, so we’ll have to wait and see.
The season 5B premiere of Grimm airs tomorrow, Friday, January 29, 2016, at 9:00pm ET/PT. Check out this article teasing Grimm‘s return, chock full of new season five photos.

Please renew Grimm, so much more to see. Possibilities in multiple directions. Just getting to the good part, delving into the history of the Grimms. Don’t cancel, get a new writer. We love this show!
Renew for season 6 & ………….I watch over and over on Amazon – Portland is my favorite city and enjoy seeing it being kept
‘weird .
I love watching Grimm and hope it is renewed for a 6th season!
I do hope NBC renews Grimm. I love the new changes this year with Nick and Adalind and I really like Eve better than Juliette. Very imaginative and entertaining show.
Please keep Grimm on there is so much garbage on TV and I really look forward to a Friday Night Date with my husband and Grimm.
I wish for Grimm to continue but I have said from the get go that the writing consistently suffers. Where are the writers who made Buffy and Angel such good shows? I want this series here in Portland. I like the actors and I wish they were given material worthy of them. The writing. The writing is slow, it is dumbed down, there is very little wit and humor, the plots are pitiful. The writing is like a bad soap opera. I long for clever, fast, witty, strong character revealing, plot forwarding dialogue that showcases these actors as the talented… Read more »
Renew it. Best show on TV. Have been a fan since day 1.
Please renew Grim, don’t make the same mistake they made with Star Trek!!!!
A once good show decimated by half-assed writing, unbelievable personal characterizations, and one of the worst actresses ever to grace the small screen, who has unbelievably become a central figure in once what was a clever series. This series needs to end, the Grimm that was is no more. The reboot is a failure. Someone turn out the lights on this train wreck..
i dont know why,!! the rest of this fans cant see how bad the writing on this show has become,?? train wreck yea, thats the correct word for the grimm show.!! last nights episode should help?? in killing the rest of this pity full ratings, what sucks is im invested., i bought the first 4 seasons. so to nbc please cancel grimm after 5th season.!!??
I FULLY AGREE.
Yes please renew, Grimm is a great show.
Please don’t cancel Grimm. I love the direction the show is going with Nick and Adalind living together. I think she’s hot. I’m glad Juliette is not with Nick anymore. She was holding him back. It would be interesting to see when Diana comes back. Will she recognize her mother? Will Adalind’s potion wear off and will she be a Hexanbiest again? Since she took the potion can her and Nick become lovers? She needs to go on the pill she gets pregnant too easy. Anyway my wife and I love the program and we watch the rerun of the… Read more »
Grimm is an exciting show with great actors. Viewing is down because NBC is constantly taking the show off to air Dateline and other shows that no one is interested in. There’s so much storyline to be covered so please don’t cancel this show anytime soon.
Grimm is one of my favorite shows, I hope it gets renewed for another season. I stayed up to watch it tonight but unfortunately it’s not on until next Friday.
I was introduced to Grimm on Amazon. Binge watched the first four seasons now waiting for more. Hope they don’t cancel a great series.
Grimm is my Friday night center of activity. it’s a very well written and acted imaginative show. I would miss it enough to not watch it’s replacement.
