Grimm aired its 100th episode on NBC last week, and it has been a fight for the series to make it that far, according to David Giuntoli. He spoke about the series in an interview with The Los Angeles Times this week, and he made one shocking revelation.
Season six could be the last season for this series. NBC has not yet renewed the series though, so it could very well end with the fifth season. Fans will need to wait for news on the fate of the series.
The series’ 100th episode did answer a big question. Nick and Monroe found the treasure that was hinted at during the start of the series. They managed to uncover it on the last episode, and it had great power. It healed Monroe from an infected bite.
Giuntoli said the following about the future of the series:
“It’s very rare that an actor gets so many opportunities between “action” and “cut.” Most of your time as an actor is spent trying to get to that point, not living within those two points, and when you’re on a long-running series, you have so much time in between those two moments to actually yell “cut.” So, I’m ever grateful for all of the opportunities I get to kind of change it up — fix things, better things, tweak things. If we get a Season 6, it could very well be our last season, and it will be the first time that the writers would get to write to an ending. If we do, it’ll be a very fun ride, with major events.”
The series has been a Friday night staple for several seasons, but the ratings have seen a dip this season. Do you want a sixth season of this series? Tell us what you think.
My wife and I haven’t missed a singal show since it aired… One of the few shows worth watching…
Grimm is the only network show I watch! Creative and imaginative! On the Fridays I am not home I DVR it. I have all the past seasons on Blue Ray. Please continue this most entertaining show!
Grimm is the best show on tv. It’s crestive and entertaining beyond words. I love this show and hope it will continue forever!
Please bring it back!! Love cast & storyline!!
I WANT SEASON 6 I NEED SEASON 6 I LOVE GRIMM. Please continue this series.
Please please please don’t cancel Grimm!!! It does have a very loyal fan base and there are several social media groups devoted to the show and the cast and while I’m aware that doesn’t necessarily translate into ratings and I get it, but at least give it one more season so the story can play out as the writers intended….
The fact that it is filmed here in Portland makes a difference of course but the show is popular overseas as well.
So I hope NBC will consider a season six. Thanks for reading.
Best show ever!! What’s up with NBC taking off great shows. They should advocate for their shows the way they do for the nightly news.
The reason why ratings dip its because too many show is on Friday night. Like sleepy hallow Mondays on fox now on fridays, the originals, vampire diaries use to be on monday on the cw, they use to be on Monday night since the season started back last October they are all on Fridays now.Grimm is the best show so far. They cancel Dracula and Constantine now grimm come on NBC.
Please write in to save Grimm. Love the show, am from Portland and adore seeing my town on tv. Great stories cast and writing. One more year! PLEASE!
GRIMM is my absolute favorite show. I watch episodes over and over. (My son tells me there are GAA (Grimm Addicts Anonymous) meetings downtown twice a week. ;)) I’ve been watching live online lately because of cable problems. I also buy the seasons via amazon. They are posted the day after they air. I believe options such as these need to be counted in the ratings. What about all of the people who have jobs on Friday nights and have no other options. Their are a lot of them out there! I like the new direction this season is going.… Read more »
Oh no they won’t. I will come drag the old cast to work and make them do it even if they don’t have a tv channel to support it^^
PLEASE dont take our Grimm! Its such a delight
I look forward to Grimm each Friday. Great ensemble cast, love the imaginative story lines and love that it is set in Portland. Really want it renewed.
Grimm has been an enjoyable and welcome part of my Friday nights. To see it go would be a shame. Maybe the executives that think it has no where to go should get different writers, new ideas from a different perspective.
I love Grimm it makes a good end to Fridays and a great start to the weekend. If NBC cancels it I won’t have any reason to watch that station any more. Hey maybe SYFY will take the show and keep it going, sounds like a good idea to me.
