If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.

I am sick, I have been waiting for the end of Happy Town, just to find out it is canceled! I am done with network Television. TNT, FX, A&E etc…are all coming through with excellent series. Get a clue ABC, CBS and NBC reality TV is old news. We want entertaining television! Sons of Anarchy, The Closer, Glades. GET IT!!!
Thanks ABC for cancelling another descent show ! What will we get now, another “reality” show with morans competeing for junk or watching some dumb ass go shopping, clean the house and take a sh*t? I had just returned to watching n0n-cable TV but with this slap in the face, I (and many like me) will be boycotingABC !!!
I originall watched the show, October Road, by the same production team. I sort of did think that with the premise of youngsters/kids being kidnapped/harmed in any way, the bigger viewing public may not go for this show. I did start to watch this show. I did like it. ABC Really! This is a wonderful show. They really need to figure out a different rating system. I’m almost as mad at Happy Town being cancelled as I was Men In Tree’s! The Neilsen ratings are not accurate. Find another trustworthy way to measure viewership!
If I did not like the show then I would have not set up a recording of it. I really wish they would at least show the ending.
I’VE HAD IT!! I’m not going to watch any show on any network that has or seems to have a continuing story line. Alright, if the ratings are bad, cancel it. But have some consideration for the several million people who gave an hour of their time and interest in characters and story lines. Don’t just drop it, write a suitable ending! Oh my gosh. I am so mad that they are cancelling this show!! It keeps me on edge and completely curious until the next one airs, yet completely pissed off about the “unofficial” schedule. If they are going to finish it they should at least keep it on the same schedule so the remaining fans can still actually watch it. Maybe thats why the ratings are so bad???
I really liked this show! I was given a TV rating booklet around sweeps. My entry for Happy Town would have most definitely made it into my ratings booklet had the episode that was suppose to air, actually aired. However, it was pulled and replaced with some weird show… So, perhaps, they sabotaged themselves with their ratings.
ABC cancels Happy Town and keeps that piece of s__t Rookie Blue?? No wonder cable tv is dominating!
OMG just heard on ABC they will air another reality dating show in the fall called dating in the dark…………….geez why do some people dont get a real life instead of getting their kicks watching crap like that that is all fake anyway. go out into the real world and get some lol

i really enjoyed the show and i think it was aired at the wrong time. it should have started in the summer when there are more reruns so people will be more likely to give a show a shot. it was a great show and i am disappointed that it will not be given a fair chance to gain an audience.
I finally find a show that keeps me on the edge of my seat after all of the sappy Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practices, and now they pull it!! Great cast, good story line, and a plot that kept me dvr’ing the show when I couldn’t watch it. I guess I’ll have to find another show (on another network) to DVR and get into. Thanks ABC for getting me right to the point of climax and then walking away….
I loved watching Happy Town and looked forward to the following week. It was nice
watching a TV show full of twists, turns, & suspense. Most shows today are so blah and basically the same ole thing. Happy Town was different & interesting. I guess some people at ABC making the big bucks & living the good live have lost touch with what the rest of us normal average folks enjoy watching.
