Yesterday, Hallmark Channel announced that host Cristina Ferrare would be replaced as co-host by regular contributor Debbie Matenopoulos. The cable channel didn’t specify when the change would take place.
Today, co-host Mark Steines made a quick announcement that Ferrare had left the show and that Matenopoulos would be replacing her, effective immediately. Ferrare hadn’t been on the show for two weeks and didn’t return for a send-off.
Fans of the show have been concerned if Ferrare was sick and have been wondering if the decision to leave was her decision. On her Facebook page, Ferrare confirmed that she is not sick and essentially says that she was fired. She wrote:
Okay here goes, I feel it’s important to finally step up to the plate and let you know what is happening.
First may I say that my family and I have been so thankful and appreciative for all the love, support, prayers, and good wishes you have been sending me on a daily basis for the past three weeks. It pained me so that I was unable to let you know what was going on out of respect for everyone on Home and Family and the Network. I was asked to wait and I have but now I feel I should out of respect for YOU let you know.
It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!
You can still reach me here on facebook and we shall continue honoring love of family and friends. I truly LOVE you all. You have been my rainbow!

So sorry to see Cristina go. Have tried watching with DM but she just doesn’t click. Too immature and showy. Not a good match with Mark. Shame on Hallmark if age was a factor in replacing Cristina.
It saddens me that Cristina was replaced! Now that she’s gone, I’m gone! Cristina was/is my favorite on the show!
I just am totally sad about Christina not on the show. I have waited to reply since she first left show and tried to watch but not the same I feel that Debbie is too into herself and seemed to overtake all the show with her into herself attitude. Another words bring back Christina she and Mark belong together ..not Debbie and Mark sorry Home and Family i know a alot if others that feel the same way ….Frank

I like the show , with or without Cristina , and I guess that is a due to her also, Its just a great show …but i did notice Cristina left after their show in Pigeon Forge with Dolly Parton , so i wonder if something happened there that the Network wan’t happy with ?..Either way , I wish her well
Hallmark, time to step up. Give Christine a show, even just an hour show. No need to have four hours of home and family back to back. This will solve the debate is Christine too old to carry a show. Watch the reviews, the numbers etc. isn’t it all about the numbers. Of course, maybe Christine doesn’t want to ever come back to a station that treated her with such disrespect. I’m really disappointed that Christina won’t be on the show anymore, she was the reason I liked Home & Family I thought her & Mark worked really well together. I probably won’t watch it very much anymore.
Christina’s gone and so am I. It’s that simple.
I loved the show with cristina I don’t watch anymore .Cristina and Mark had a good chemistry together. Debbie is too showy. Nice but showy Christina seemed like a regular person ,she has charm and grace
I have tried watching but it is just not the same. I`v been a fan of C, F, for a long time. Ican not believe they would fire her,
I watched every morning, but now that she is gone I don’t think I’ll be watching anytime soon! The new host just does not have the genuine feel and does not bring that warm feeling to the show.
Cristina Ferrare was the show. I used to ET when Mark Steines was a host so I thought he was a plus addition. Now that Cristina is gone I won’t be watching. Do not care for the new host and could be how she presents herself on the show. Seems like she is trying to hard to capture the audience but just not a good fit.
Love Christina,The show now seems fake,to much showboat antics. They are trying to hard to replace Christina,which Debbie certainly cannot do. Also , what a shame – no pictures of her on recent show that featured Dollywood pics! She certainly was a huge part of that! What!! Chrustina not invitedto marks wedding ??? What a loss to Home and Family fans
I wondered if they photo shopped Cristina out of the Dollywood shots or just spent a lot of time finding ones without her. Something must have happened that was dramatic or unpleasant to warrant the way her departure has been treated. I probably assign too much significance to their relationships, I thought the cast were friends. Clearly they are good actors and actresses which is needed in their industry.
What Hallmark did is uncalled for, on how they treated christina I will know longer watch your channel. I hope your channel goes to hell. And your precious home and family show is a hell of a flop I will pass the word along.
