Yesterday, Hallmark Channel announced that host Cristina Ferrare would be replaced as co-host by regular contributor Debbie Matenopoulos. The cable channel didn’t specify when the change would take place.
Today, co-host Mark Steines made a quick announcement that Ferrare had left the show and that Matenopoulos would be replacing her, effective immediately. Ferrare hadn’t been on the show for two weeks and didn’t return for a send-off.
Fans of the show have been concerned if Ferrare was sick and have been wondering if the decision to leave was her decision. On her Facebook page, Ferrare confirmed that she is not sick and essentially says that she was fired. She wrote:
Okay here goes, I feel it’s important to finally step up to the plate and let you know what is happening.
First may I say that my family and I have been so thankful and appreciative for all the love, support, prayers, and good wishes you have been sending me on a daily basis for the past three weeks. It pained me so that I was unable to let you know what was going on out of respect for everyone on Home and Family and the Network. I was asked to wait and I have but now I feel I should out of respect for YOU let you know.
It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!
You can still reach me here on facebook and we shall continue honoring love of family and friends. I truly LOVE you all. You have been my rainbow!

When Cristina Ferrrare was removed from Home and Family, the show went downhill on a skateboard very fast! There is no longer any maturity or class left. No pretty flowers, no classy decorations that made it look like a home & Not many guests worth watching! Everyone acts like they have had too much caffeine or sugar; they act a bunch of kids all talking over one another to try to get someone’s attention! I will no longer watch either. Debbie is no Christina. She doesn’t have the warmth and grace of Shame on Christine. Maybe the producers felt they needed to attract a younger audiance but…it will be at the loss of us “seasoned” adults. There’s enough cellulite and perkie blossomed females on TV …..wisdom and classy women like Christina will always be in fashion and always be needed. Shame on Hallmark.
She should not have been home and family. She was funny , inter acted with the guest. I won’t be watching it anymore . She has a very loving and natural way about her. She should Come back. Sincerly and loving. Jacqueline potts
I really enjoyed Christina, she has great sincerity. It appeared she meshed with her co host, & he showed respect for her…..but Debbie does not seem to flow. Have not felt desire to watch the show.

Home & Family is synonymous with Cristina Ferrare… It seems incomplete without her.
I am so sad to hear about Christina being fired. She is the show and no disrespect for Debbie but she just dos t have that likability that Christina oozed. I think it is a huge mistake.
I totally agree with the other post Christina was the show, Mark isn’t got it,and debbie, is not the new Christina, she deserves a proper good bye, how rude and inconsiderate of hallmark.
Christina, is the Regis of home and family,plus her and Regis started together was back….a long time fan…Hey Christina, you and Regis should pop on a morning show together see how many hits you get….a new show..?
I will not watch Home and Family anymore. I am very disappointed in the way they treated Cristina. After thinking about it, I feel the reason she was fired was because she shared her faith and belief in Jesus Christ. I am sure they didn’t want to “offend” anyone.
It’s not the same watching Home and Family. Without Christine, the chemistry is not there. I used to record every episode that I could not watch. It just doesn’t have the same appeal. Whoever let her get away wasn’t very bright.
Disappointed that Christine fired. No farewell, cheap shot hallmark.

I think that Hallmark is a bast— channel for firing Christina and I will no longer watch the home show!!! The administrators of this channel do not know when they are well off! What creeps!!!

I’m sorry to see her go. She and Mark went togeather. I don’t see why they should change the setup. bring her back.
I can’t stand Christina and haven’t for a long time. I think she was snotty to Chuck Woolery. She seems to have a “better than thou” attitude. I might even start watching again.
