Get ready for more Homeland. A lot more. Variety reports Showtime is nearing a deal for two more seasons of the series.
The political thriller has already been renewed for a sixth season, which will premiere early next year.
During a press conference call, Showtime CEO David Nevins said the network is nearing a renewal deal with Homeland‘s studio, FOX 21:
We’re just about done with a deal with Fox 21 for Homeland for three more years starting for season six.”
In addition to season six, the renewal deal will include seasons seven and eight. Nevins also mentioned that the show doesn’t have an end date in sight:
Homeland is a show that’s constantly reinventing itself. It’s not on a straight character trajectory path. It’s changing season to season. More than most, it’s a show that has an open-ended expiration date because of the subject matter.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Homeland? Are you glad it’s being renewed?
Now that Homeland won’t be back until January 2017, really hope that the series should end after eight seasons.
