The end is very real for Imaginary Mary. Today, ABC announced the last episode of the cancelled TV show will air on May 30th.
Recently, ABC cancelled the freshman comedy, which centers on a fiercely independent single career woman named Alice (Jenna Elfman) who falls head over heels for Ben (Stephen Schneider), a divorced father of three. The cast also includes Nicholas Coombe, Matreya Scarrwener, and Erica Tremblay.
The final episode of Imaginary Mary is scheduled to air on May 30th at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
From ABC:
Sleep Over” – Alice decides it is time to finally have a sleepover when Andy, Dora and Bunny are at their dad’s while Ben is hesitant, because he doesn’t want to scare Alice off with the kid’s nightly rituals and lack of sleep. But they decide to go through it, which leaves Alice more rattled than she expected. With Mary’s help, Alice tries to fix the problem, but it backfires, on a special bonus episode of “Imaginary Mary,” TUESDAY, MAY 30 (9:30-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.
“Imaginary Mary” stars Jenna Elfman as Alice, Stephen Schneider as Ben, Rachel Dratch as Mary (VO), Nicholas Coombe as Andy, Matreya Scarrwener as Dora and Erica Tremblay as Bunny.
Guest starring is Bronwen Smith as Megan and James Rha as Agent.
“Sleep Over” was written by Adam Goldberg & Chris Bishop and directed by Luke Greenfield.
The live action/CGI hybrid comes from “The Goldbergs” team Adam F. Goldberg (writer/executive producer), David Guarascio (writer/executive producer) and Doug Robinson (executive producer). Mary CG animation is designed by Patrick Osborne (creator of Academy Award-winning animated short “The Feast”), who is also executive producer. The pilot was directed by Shawn Levy (“Arrival,” “Night at the Museum,” “Cheaper by the Dozen”), who is also executive producer.
The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, Happy Madison and ABC Studios.”
What do you think? Are you watching Imaginary Mary? Do you think ABC should’ve renewed the series?
So many wonderful, wholesome, genuinely funny TV shows get cancelled by network execs. LOVED Imaginary Mary. Heartwarming, engaging, POSITIVE family entertainment that also reminds us about the good & happy aspects of our society. Small wonder that so many are fleeing TV (cable too) for dvds & sites like Netflix & Hulu. ABC prefers TV grunge to TV Gold. Sad!
I loved the Mary VO and the cute character with those facial expression so FUNNY had me cracking up every episode. Loved her snappy comment to Alice. You feel for Mary when she sad like in episode where her blue spots and her started vanishing. Will miss it.Nothing like it on TV.
I loved “Imaginary Mary.” For just a few minutes, I was transported into this precious family with all their quirks. Sorry ABC has cancelled it. I will have to make do with the few reruns that are available. They leave the ones that have the ugly language in them so that children hear all the cursing and slang, but do away with one that is refreshing and good entertainment. The kids are ALL adorable in their own unique ways.
I loved this show and wish they had not cancelled it. I don’t watch much TV, but I loved the what a good job they did making Mary seem real. (And yes, I wish I have a Mary of my own.)
The line is I like the snuggles Chica why you making this all weird. Sorry for typo
Imaginary Mary is so funny. Networks remove all of our sitcoms. I love sitcoms. There funny all on TV is smut and reality nothing clean anymore. This show is definitely a keeper. I like the snuggles chips why to making this all weird. DO NOT CANCEL.
I thought this was cute and I did look forward to it. I am 55 but loved it. They need to reconsider
Should be renewed. Adam Goldberg is comedy gold, in a world of cookie cutter sitcoms.
I thought this show was so funny. And was a great show. I love Jenna Elfman and thought she was great. In this comedy show. This show deserves a season 2 and a few more seasons. It was a really funny and great show. Please don’t cancel this show. It was a cute and funny show. I loved it.
I thought the episode that aired 2 days ago was the finale episode
What else is new none of these networks keep any good shows, I really liked this show and I’m sorry it’s not coming back… If American Housewife doesn’t come back I’m going to stop watching ABC…
Housewife has been renewed
