USA Network’s In Plain Sight TV show recently had its episode order cut from 16 to 13 installments. Is this a sign that the series is headed for the TV graveyard after three seasons?
Not necessarily. It turns out that In Plain Sight will wrap season three early for another reason. The Futon Critic was told by Universal Cable Productions, “John McNamara, executive producer and showrunner of USA Network’s In Plain Sight, took a leave of absence for medical reasons… John Romano assumed executive producer responsibilities for the remaining episodes. Given the unexpected change, we decided to end the season at a natural spot — with the surprising cliffhanger of episode 13.”
Season three will finish airing on Wednesday, June 30th. In Plain Sight hasn’t been renewed for a fourth season yet and isn’t necessarily looking like a lock either.
Last season reportedly averaged 4.08 million viewers but recent episodes have been attracting less than three million viewers. That’s certainly not a good indicator for renewal.
What do you think? Should In Plain Sight be renewed for season four or cancelled?

I really like In Plain Sight – I am upset by the possibility that it might be cancelled. I just wish USA would be more consistent in its viewing times – sometimes a good show gets moved and viewers can’t find it and assume it got cancelled! Wednesday has been great for me as there isn’t any conflict at that time slot for me. I LOVE IT. I think the story-lines have been great, meeting Marshal’s father was interesting and I love Mary’s hard shell getting cracked occasionally (i.e. her friendship with the witness who died). One of the best… Read more »
10 THUMBS UP!!!! Heck yes In Plain Sight should be renewed!
What USA should work on is being consistent with its shows and when they’re running. Keeping up with constantly changing timetables, etc. for shows causes viewers to drop/forget when shows are on.
This show is a downer. I don’t care for Mary she looks like shes had way too much botox!
I think the show is uplifting. It should what we can do for people who need their identity protected. Witnesses are very important to a trial. As far as how Mary looks I don’t see her as trying to be a participant in a beauty contest. She is a U.S. Marshal and although sometimes or most times she seems harsh you must remember it is her job to keep witnesses from being killed.
Are you kidding? The writing is creative and the storyline unique and fascinating. A downer would be all of the hideous so-called reality shows that manipulate its sad pathetic participants and highlights the worst in human behavior. As for the critque of Mary’s looks. I actually love the execs for casting McCormick as Mary. Does she have Botox treatments? I don’t know or care. What she is is believable in the part. She actually looks and acts like someone who might really have that job; not a hollywood starlet with flawless features. I love Burn Notice for a variety of… Read more »
Keep this show. Mary is amazing as well as Marshal. One of the best shows on TV. And there are not many out there. Don’t end this show’s run.
Please renew!! I enjoy Mary’s sarcasm and dry humor.
In Plain Sight is my favorite show of the season. I love Mary’s attitude and her relationship with her mother and sister makes me think of home, my home. Mary and Marshall have a great working relationship and it make me happy that they aren’t trying to make a romantic couple out of the two of them. Hip, Hip, Hooray! That means I want it to be renewed for a fourth season.
Keep it, keep it, keep it! Freakin excelent show!
In Plain Sight is one of a hand full of witty, intelligent and thought provoking shows on the air. Perhaps that will be its downfall.
We are subjected to inane, mind-numbing productions like Big Brother and America’s Funniest Videos and these pieces of modern day junk will survive, while quality programing like In Plain Sight will be lost forever.
Like bad government, we keep pandering to the lowest common denominator amongst us.
This is a really good show that deserves to be renewed and shouldn’t have been moved from Sundays to Wednesdays in the first place. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
in plain sight should be renewed
pleaes dont cancell the program “IN PLAN SIGHT’. My family enjoys watching it,and
we can’t wait till comes on. I want to tell you this. most of the good shows we like to

This is a great show with incredible dialogue and interesting characters. There is nothing else like it which should be one large reason to renew it!!
This is the best show on television! The writing, the characters, the actors, the storyline, and the dark sarcastic humor are in perfect harmony! There is no other show, past or present, that could deliver the amount of satisfaction that we get from watching this show! I would be so heartbroken and disappointed in USA if this show were not renewed, that I would most likely cancel my subscription! I look forward to each and every episode, and each and every season! Not only is it my favorite show, but it is my mother’s as well! Too many good shows… Read more »
This show deserves to be renewed!! Great characters, great storylines, and the last few episodes have been very moving and fantastic. I certainly hope USA renews for a 4th season. At the very least, give McNamara or even Maples the chance to end the series where they deem fit. Mary and Marshall deserve that much!!
