The boys are finally moving on. In a recent interview with Radio Times, The Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison says the UK series and its film spin-offs are likely done.
Created by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the E4 sitcom starred Harrison, Simon Bird, Joe Harris, and James Buckley as four inept teenagers bumbling their way through adolescence.
The series debuted in 2008 and continued for three seasons before ending in 2010. The show gained wide-spread popularity and critical acclaim in the UK, winning two BAFTAs for “Best Situation Comedy.”
In 2012, a spin-off film premiered that took the boys on vacation to Greece. Two years later, a sequel was produced.
Now, Harrison says that will probably be it for The Inbetweeners.
“Just as much as that is my decision to not really want to venture back into that again,” he told Radio Times, “the writers have also said to us that they’ve run out of ideas. So it’s going to be very hard even if I wanted to do it again!”
Currently, Harrison stars on IFC’s sitcom The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which debuts its third season on January 7th.
