Today, at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour, Comedy Central announced an early fifth season renewal for the Inside Amy Schumer TV series. The fourth season of Inside Amy Schumer is set for April of this year.

“We are so excited to get picked up,” said Schumer. “I’ve gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best.”
A multiplatform hit, full-episode streams of the show’s third season grew more than 200% from its second season and total video streams saw a sixfold increase season-over-season, with over 83 million videos streamed from the third season, according to Comedy Central. The series, which last yearwon [sic] its first Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, also saw its social media footprint triple over the course of its third season with a 40% increase in Twitter mentions.
Inside Amy Schumer explores topics revolving around sex and relationships and combines scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy and man-on-the-street interviews. Season 3 guest stars included Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Giamatti, Dennis Quaid, Jeff Goldblum, Josh Charles, Method Man, Colin Quinn, Kumail Nanjiani, Rob Morrow, Kathy Najimy, America Ferrara, among many others. The series was created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, who executive produce along with Head Writer Jessi Klein. Tony Hernandez and Steve Ast also serve as Executive Producers, Kim Caramele and Kevin Kane as Supervising Producers. Ryan McFaul directs, with additional segments directed by Schumer and Powell.
