While the second season of Legend of the Seeker is still airing, a significant decision has already been made about the possibility of season three.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and airs in syndication, primarily running on stations owned by the Tribune Company. The show debuted on November 1, 2008 and was renewed for second season after just 10 episodes had aired.
Season two kicked off on November 7, 2009 and now, after 13 episodes have aired, Tribune has decided they’ve had enough. According to KsiteTV and a representative of Tribune, the show’s ratings haven’t been good enough for them to renew Legend of the Seeker for season three.

While ABC has not made an announcement that the show has been cancelled, the Tribune Company represents a large percentage of stations that carry the series. ABC will have to do a lot of legwork to get it picked up by enough other stations.
The big questions are if the ratings are good enough for other stations to want to pick up the show and if the revenue will warrant ABC keeping the show going.
Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman isn’t ready to give up just yet. Yesterday, he twittered a photo his show’s hero with his favorite Mark Twain quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The remaining episodes of season two kick off on March 20th.
What do you think? Should Legend of the Seeker survive to see a third season?

I watched my first episode a week ago, and I’m all caught up with the series(crazy huh). I”m addicted!! Now It looks like it may get canceled. This is now my favorite show on TV. It has a story, humor, sexy ladies, and action(fights need to be a bit better but I’ll live with it if they keep it on) Its Xena and Hurcules(both of which I hated) on steroids with better acting and writing. There must be a season 3 and beyond. I’m a 6ft 250 pound man and I’ve shed a tear or two watching this show. I’m… Read more »
Legend of the Seeker needs to be renewed. This is the only show worth watching anymore. Most of the shows on tv have a lot of the same story lines and the same evryday drama. Legend of the Seeker always has something new and interesting on each week. We as the fans get to watch stuff on the show that could never happen in real life so its like an escape for me for an hour each week. I don’t know what i would do without my Seeker fix every week. LEGEND OF THE SEEKER NEEDS A SEASON 3! SHOOT… Read more »
Seeker should definitely be renewed for a third season. It is the only show that I put up with commercials in order to watch. The corporations seem to have no imagination when it comes to television shows. I have no desire to watch doctors perform surgeries or rich girls throw hissy fits.
its a great show please dont be cancelled
Legend of the Seeker deserves to be saved
Don’t cancel another good show! save seeker
Don’t cancel another good show! All of the shows I watch get canceled because it isn’t damn reality show or are aired on a night when barely anyone is home to watch tv or doesn’t get enough publicity. I will be very pissed and disappointed if this show gets canceled.
Once again the SciFi community is let down buy cheap corporations that refuse to have any loyalty to a great show. Hello? If you want better ratings why not air the show BEFORE 12:30 a.m.!!!!!!!! I DVR it and have watched every episode faithfully. Great cast, great writing, great classic good vs. evil plot. What more could you want? Oh wait, I know – how bout season 3 to continue this awesome show. Maybe SyFy will pick it up like they did season 2 of Merlin. I enjoy Merlin and I’m glad I’ll get to see the 2nd season but… Read more »
Legend of the Seeker is the ONLY show I will watch on the weekends and the ONLY show that is worth watching on WGN! Why, oh why would Tribune cancel this show???? My only hope is that CW renews for a third season or some other national cable network picks it up. This show should be in prime time. It is creative, original and tells entertaining stories with interesting characters. I tune in to both my local CW affiliate and WGN to watch each episode twice, record them and re-watch! Ratings have to be underestimated for this show–nobody ever calls… Read more »
I love Legend of the Seeker, it is my favorite show on TV. It deserves to have a 3rd season and many more after that!
Please save this show. This is one of the best on TV. They need to advertise more about the show. Get the actors on the view or something.
Must be renewed for season 3! Can’t believe there is even discussion about it.. what is wrong with the exec’s
Legend of the Seeker wins & needs a third season. Ratings , Smatings..This show has fans, young and old & not only are we ready to fight to keep this show on, we’ve watched enough episodes to know that we fight till the death!
..dramatic? yes…so what. I want my show to stay.
Legend of the Seeker should not be canceled.
It’s ridiculous that all the shows on TV theses days are cop/detective shows or reality shows. Finally we get something original and it gets chopped before they even get a chance to make this into something big. I don’t know what type of numbers they’re expecting from LOTS, but Tribune doesn’t give LOTS nearly enough promotion. I watch LOTS on The CW and the only time I ever see a their commercial is an hour or two before the show on Saturday. No wonder LOTS has poor stats.
Legend of the Seeker is the best show so tv right now. The fact that they want to cancel the show when it isn’t given the proper promotion is just horrible. Seeker is such a nice change from all the reality crap and cop and medical shows that seem to be the only thing on. To be able and sit down and enjoy a show without thinking too much and you can just let your mind wander and enjoy the oldfashioned battle of good versus evil. You don’t feel tense and stressed when it is over, because you haven’t been… Read more »
