Sometimes the truth hurts — especially when it comes to television ratings. After three seasons, FOX has cancelled Lie to Me.
Starring Tim Roth, Lie to Me revolves around Cal Lightman and members of The Lightman Group. They’re a team of specialists who help law enforcement agencies uncover the truth by using applied psychology. Others in the cast include Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer.
Last season, Lie to Me averaged a 2.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.03 million total viewers. That was down from season one and the series found itself on the bubble for renewal. FOX ended up giving the TV series another chance and renewed it for 13 episodes.
Unfortunately, season three didn’t perform nearly as well as season two. It premiered last October to a 2.1 rating in the demo and 5.86 million. Viewership eroded in subsequent weeks and FOX declined to give the show a full season order. Lie to Me then hit a new series low in January, registering a meager 1.5 rating and 5.43 million viewers.

In its final weeks on the air, viewers seemed to rally behind it and Lie to Me had its best ratings of the season — a 2.5 in the demo and 7.67 million.
Though the ratings had come way down, FOX execs claimed that they still valued the TV series and saw it as a solid utility player. Showrunner Alex Cary said, “Fox has been very clear with us — they know what the show is, they know what it can do. [The ratings bump] shows that people will come watch the show.”
Now, after three seasons on the air, the series is over. FOX has officially cancelled Lie to Me after 48 episodes. All of the installments have aired. Though there are too few episodes for a traditional syndication package, the first two seasons have already been released on DVD.

There should definitely be a season 4.Fox didn’t promote it well enough if such an amazing show got canned.
Need to bring season 4 back! It was such a good show! I’d say its almost as good as NCIS!

Why did you guys have to cancel the show without a real season finale there a billion ways to cancel why do it in such an empty way.I think the problem was that you didn’t promote it enough i just saw it on Netflix after all these years for the first time and it seems like it was a brand new show all the actors did an extremely awesome job and you guys the promoters and I think it will do assome this time around if you bring it back or atleast for a proper finale.
this was one of the best drama series to come out of Fox in some time and the character dynamics were getting better each season. Yes! Fox should renew this series

Lie to Me is literally my favorite show and I’ve watched each season 3 times already on Netflix. I’m devastated that season 4 is not being aired and I’m still devastated actually. PLEASE BRING LIE TO ME BACK
Lie to Me needs to come back and live on. I love the whole concept and the actors who play the characters do a spectacular job. I watched it on Netflix because I had always planned to watch it when it came out, but never had the time. I find out it is canceled and major disappointed because it has so much potential for more seasons to come with the spectacular performance of Tim Roth and other splendid performances. Bring back Cal Lightman for he still has more cases to toss about,

There should definitely be a season four, maybe more after that!! I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Apart from “Person of Interest” this is one of the few series I have actually enjoyed!! I would love to see more seasons.

Lie to me is the first series I’ve actually watched! I bought netflix and cromecast specifically to watch the series. I have finished all of the episodes and I am beyond disappointed that there are not any more. Please bring back lie to me!
