CBS is throwing in the towel on the Life in Pieces TV show. The network has cancelled the show so there won’t be a fifth season.
A dramedy, Life In Pieces stars Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister-Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett, Giselle Eisenberg, and Hunter King. The series follows four branches of the Short family tree. Although they’re a big happy clan, that doesn’t mean there are no awkward moments amidst their funny and moving milestones. Each episode unfolds as four short stories which, when woven together, tell one story about this thing called life.
The fourth season of Life in Pieces is averaging a 0.84 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.75 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 24% and 11%, respectively. Five episodes of the 13 installment season have aired thus far.
Out of the 26 scripted CBS TV shows of the 2018-19 season, Life in Pieces is in 13th place in the demo and 16th place in total viewership.
What do you think? Do you enjoy the Life in Pieces TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled? Would you have watched a fifth season?
This was such a great show – it came back with no fanfare or promotion late in the season – of course the ratings dropped. Why can’t these networks give quality a chance – but reality shows go on and on and on! This is why so many of us are going to other outlets like prime and Netflix for quality shows.
Heartbroken that Life in Pieces is being cancelled! It’s one of the funniest sitcoms out there. If CBS won’t keep it going maybe another network will, one that recognizes good, enjoyable TV programming.
I thought this was a pretty good/funny show, but the Zoe Lister-Jones character just took away all the fun. I got tired of fast-forwarding through her appearances, so I just stopped watching.
What a travesty to cancel one of the funniest shows on TV.
I am heart broken! This is my favorite show, next to Big Bang Theory. Big Bang Theory’s airing its final episode next Thursday. Now Life In Pieces won’t be back next season? Why? It was brilliant writing, brilliant acting. CBS really did get it wrong!
Great show, intelligent and witty. Please don’t cancel!
This is a FANTASTIC show! If CBS is too short-sighted to see that then c’mon other networks!
So, so disappointed. It is in my opinion a shame that this fantastic, clever, heartwarming funny show has to be canceled. Please don’t tell me there are more “reality show” in the making…those are insufferable.
Sincerely
The best comedy on TV–too bad most of the populace don’t get it. They would rather watch the inane shows that try to pass for comedy.
Cancelling this program is a travesty. The cast is top notch, the writing is clever. Funny yet unexpectedly touching at times.
It’s one of the VERY FEW shows I watch faithfully. Hopefully, the “suits” will come to their senses and rescind the cancellation. If they don’t, I pray another network will see the value in it and add the show to their lineup.
Life in Pieces is a great show. We love it. Please don’t cancel.
Really sad to hear this. Life In Pieces is very funny and well written.
What!!!??? Are you flipping kidding me? That is the funniest show on!! This is not right!! And they leave the Bachelor show on that just sucks!! What is wrong with this “@&$&@“ up world??!
The headline says, “No Season Four.” The first paragraph says, “there won’t be a fourth season.” But the third paragraph says, “The fourth season of Life in Pieces is averaging a 0.84 rating .”
Yes, that was a typo but has been fixed. Thanks.
One of my favorite shows….If I ever find out who made this decision there will be a misunderstanding!!!!
Great Show!! Sorry it will be canceled.
