Why did CBS cancel Limitless? At this summer’s TCA press tour, network chief Glenn Geller explained why there will be no second season of the series, TVInsider reports.
Based on the 2011 film, the drama followed Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), who is given a special drug that unlocks 100% of his brain. The cast also included Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon.
During the panel, Geller said CBS cancelled Limitless because he didn’t “think it connected with the viewers”:
Ultimately we had to look at the show; it was a very good show, but I don’t think it connected with the viewers as well as other shows had. Yeah, we could have brought it back. But we also have to put on new shows and give other things a shot. It could have come back, but we have to do better; we want to improve time periods. That’s why we put on new shows.”

Let’s try this again. Ok so, I was looking for something to watch since I am totally bored with most everything on live t.v. lately. Came across this series on Netflix. I totally love it. I loved that show. It was great fun with drama. I don’t get it. It needs to come back. I hate when networks just give up without asking the viewers directly.
Love this show and have not been involved with any series in 15 years. I’m watching it on Netflix and am planning to drop my local stations. Sorry I missed this show on CBS but often we don’t find a good show until a second season.

Omg.. I am so sad to see that “Limitless” has been cancelled. That was my favorite show.. watched it with my granddaughter without fail weekly. Was excited for the next season than I received this horrible news

I absolutely loved Limitless!!!! Totally had my attention! I have to agree with many others, it was cancelled to make room for McGyver?!! Who makes these decisions??? How about polling your viewers???? Maybe you need to rethink your decision makers!!!

I really loved this show. I agree there always needs to be room for new shows, but it’s dissappointing when stations get rid of great shows for mediocre shows such as McGyver. Hoping this show will return when a slot needs to be filled with a great show!

Crazy crazy crazy best show on TV bad promotional job most caught it on Netflix afterwards and everyone loved it limitless story lines. Bring it back!!!
You don’t think that this show connected with the viewers, but bringing back a 1980’s show about a guy who takes a twig, some duck tape and a pen and makes a handglider is what we all live to see. The show was brilliant! Who needs “3” NCIS programs? How do some of you keep your jobs? Not sarcasm, just a question.
Sooooooo incredibly upset you canceled “Limitless”!!! I just finished watching it on Netflix. When I went to CBS to start watching season 2, I found it was canceled!!! It was a very creative show. I know of many a different audience that watched it. BRING IT BACK!!!!!!! It was a refreshing, imaginative, fun and sometimes dramatic series that kept you wanting more of Brian Finch(And all the characters in the show)!!!
