It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

You know its sad that the network wants stupid shows that are changing the morals of our children on and take away one with great writing and morals. Such a real life show with meaning. Its sad that the ABC family thinks that Pretty Little Liars is a family show too. We wonder what the hell is happening to our young people and its the disturbing shows that never get cancel. I really enjoyed watching evey episodes of Lincoln Heights.

This was an amazing show! It was truly a family show, portrayed real life of a police officer and his family life. The struggles they faced… Very relatable. The values the show had, favorite character was Lizzy, strong girl, shows your never too young to make a difference! The fact that the dad and the mom were united, always…you don’t ever see that in movies/shows anymore. Good family values and morals…I say bring the show back for another season. Although the “finale” was alright, it was a happy ending…but still I would love to see more of it!
I am so upset to hear that they canceld Lincoln Heights ist a good tv show and i have to agree with others everytime you get into some think thats good it ges cancelled. And stupid realyty shows and cooking showes ar on tv. Lincoln Heights should of not been canceld at all!!!!!!!!!

What a load…Good shows with true meaning get cancled and we put things like Pretty Little Liars on to teach your girls to be deceitful and lie……what a world we live in….
I’m very very up set. It always seems like every African American show comes out get cancelled. This was a very good family night show, it let you know that no matter what your going through your family can still make it. I look forward to watching this show but now I can’t unless I buy the past dvds. Bring it back! Bring it back! Bring it back!!
I really don’t understand how this show didn’t get great ratings when the comments and people that are upset about the show getting cancelled.. were they really getting bad ratings or was it because abc family just didn’t want to air it anymore?? I don’t get it!
Lincoln Heights was my favorite show on tv by far. There’s so many shows on tv that are not even close to being reality. This show was based on things that happend in our everyday life and I am saddened by the show being cancelled. I was always left for wanting more and It still bothers me not knowing what happend at the end of season four, was really looking for another season and hopefully one day they will bring it back!
This was my absolute favorite show! I watched every single episode from season one to season four… This show should DEFINATELY come back to life! Soon!

Im upset that Lincoln Heights was canceled. It was one of my favorite shows and the last episode that aired wasn’t good for a final episode for the show. I think they should have kept Lincoln Heights going or at least they should bring it back.

It saddens me that a Great family show with strong family and marital values was cancelled. I am even more amazed that after a year. We are still talking about it.
