We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.

Spent thirty minutes searching for Lone Star on television, wondering where did it go, only to browse on-line to find out that it had been cancelled. My family really enjoyed Lone Star and we’re very surprised that it got shelved after only two episodes. This gives doubt to just how accurate the rating system is.
I’m sad the show got cancelled. I really like the show and hope the remaining episodes get released or even continued sometime inthe future. Lone Star was a very entertaining show for me; where I nearly never get sucked into new shows, Lone Star caught my attention. I anticipate viewers redirected their attention on Dancing with the Stars and the new show the Event. Both the opposing shows are great shows too. If Lone Star comes back to TV I’ll be watching!

I loved lone star! I think that they should let the series go on for a full year. Like they used to. Anyways, how do they make these ratings? No body ever asked me! Lonestar cancelled??? Are you kidding me? I was looking up the FOX tv schedule to find its next airing and this is what I find! Very very disappointed! Great cast! Loved the unexpected twists and turns in story line. Fox blew it this time!

This was by far the BEST new show. How could you cancel when the word of mouth hasn’t had a chance to get around? People are just getting around to viewing their DVR’s recordings. Any chance they’ll reconsider?
I am really disappointed that Lone Star has been cancelled as I was truly engrossed and dying to see how it would evolve. I wonder if the title might have been confusing? I kept thinking it was a repeat of the show Lonesome Dove and that I didn’t want to see it again. I simply can not understand what went wrong. Bring it back please. Delia
Unbelievable!!! Great acting, riveting plot, and, for Lie to Me with that little British dweeb to slide in its’ place makes me wonder where Fox’s head is. Bring it back, please!!!!!!!!
