What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, Longmire stars Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Cassidy Freeman, Adam Bartley, and A Martinez. Based on the Craig Johnson mystery novel series, the drama centers on Absaorka County, Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire (Taylor).
In November 2016, Longmire was renewed for a sixth season and final season. The finale was released on November 17, 2017. Could it return some day? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Fans don’t have to spend season six wondering whether Netflix will cancel or renew Longmire for season seven. Last November, the streaming service announced it was renewed for a sixth and final season. Longmire fans have had a long time to prepare themselves for the end of this contemporary western crime thriller. It originally ran for three seasons on A&E. When the cable network cancelled Longmire, Netflix rode in for the rescue. At least this time, the writing team has had ample time to craft a suitable ending. I’ll still keep my eye out for news related to Longmire, so subscribe for free updates.

I really agree with everyone on this post. Longmire has been one of the best shows I’ve watched in a long time. I really like the characters and the stories behind each. Walt is a fantastic human being and the writers have done a great job here of creating a winner. I really wish Walt and Vic could have figured it out, but what a great show. I will miss it in my life.
If you are going to have a final season, tie up loose ends. Season 6 did not. Please add a Season 7.
There should be a continuation with Cady having won the position. Appears to me that it was even written to continue on and can still be called “Longmire”. I do hope I’m right!! Walt can make special appearances, like if he finds the treasure, or a wedding with Vic etc etc. Pullllllease continue the series!!!
My wife and I watched the final show this last weekend. The story lines, actors, and filming were great. I am so sorry it will not be back. Any chance it will come back? It is a type of western which you don’t see any more. We just lost a classic.
My husband and I recently signed up for Netflix and marathon watched Longmire over the New Year weekend. Such a fantastic series. Once we started we couldn’t stop. So sorry to see it won’t be back for another season. Did the actors want to leave or did Netflix just want to cancel it? To bad. There are more idiotic shows than great ones.

Please keep this program going. This is the best program. It has brought many couples and families together. In today’s world, that is hard to do. I have not been one to sit and watch television or go to a movie, this program got my full attention.

I have to admit. This showed captured my attention more than anything. Couldn’t keep away from it. There definitely needs to be more seasons for this fantastic episode. It could have ended with 6 seasons, but that phone call at the end made it clear Longmire fans need more.

I watch a lot of tv. Longmire has always been slightly different than the average ‘whodunnit’, in that, it provides a western feel yet stays relative to viewers that like murder mysteries. The personal lives of each character as well as the intrigue each case offers has made this show compelling to watch. It has been in my top five favorite shows every season since its start. Please continue producing this show! I know nothing lasts forever and while Longmire is definitely not nothing, I’d still like it to last forever.
