Where would Don Draper be now? Recently, Mad Men star Jon Hamm revealed what he thinks happened after the end of the AMC TV show, via The Hollywood Reporter.
Hamm played ad executive Draper on the long-running period drama, which ended in 2015 after seven seasons. The cast also included Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, Kiernan Shipka, Jessica Paré, Kevin Rahm, Christopher Stanley, and Jay R. Ferguson.
On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, Hamm said he thinks Draper would be long gone by now:
He’d be in his 80s (now) and there ain’t no way that guy is getting into his 80s without a massive lifestyle shift, which maybe he did at the end of the show, but I don’t think that stuck. I don’t think that zen moment of understanding anything really stuck.”
And what did Hamm think of the series ending in general?
I thought it was a very poetic, very nice way to end the show, and also very cryptic, which sticks in the realm of the show’s vocabulary anyway. It’s nice to talk about a show you like and not have it have to be spoon fed to you.”

What do you think? Did you watch Mad Men? What do you think about the series ending?
Great ending to a fantastic series. Being a born in ’46 Baby Boomer the show brought back many great ’50’s and 60’s memories. Love watching replays on the Audience channel. And Jon is right Don is dead!
I thought that the end was brilliant! With the famous Pepsi commercial song playing in the background to me it meant that Don had finally “hit the jackpot” and that he was set for life in his profession and at peace with himself.
I haven’t seen the final episode, but I assume you’re referring to the famous Pepsi commercial that features the song “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke.”
I think he made the Pepsi ad which did set him up for the rest of his time in the profession. However, I don’t think he ever found peace with himself and that at some point he burned out his own candle.
It was a Coke ad – not pepsi. The song is “I’d like to buy the world a COKE”
