ABC has done very well with their political drama, Scandal. Will Madam Secretary be a similar ratings hit for CBS? Will it be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled? Stay tuned.
On Madam Secretary, former CIA analyst Elizabeth McCord (Tèa Leoni) returns to public life after being recruited by the President (Keith Carradine) to become the new Secretary of State. The rest of the cast includes Željko Ivanek, Bebe Neuwirth, Geoffrey Arend, Patina Miller, Erich Bergen, Tim Daly, Katherine Herzer, and Evan Roe.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/12 update: Madam Secretary and two other shows have been renewed for a second season by CBS.
Final season averages: 1.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.82 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a couple weeks later.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Madam Secretary TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
Madam Secretary is certainly a show that my wife and I would love to see continued for several more seasons. The entire cast is great and the story line is great. We urge CBS to continue this show.
Thanks
This is one of the best shows ever. Please keep it! Mary HH
This is an excellent show. Great cast, great writing, intelligent, absorbing stories, both political and personal. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW!
Don’t cancel this show. It’s a good show. We watch so much junk on TV and this is welcome relief. Madam Secretary and the Good Wife are the shows I look forward too the whole week.
FAVORITE. SHOW. Am devoted NCIS fan BUT enjoy Madam Secretary MUCH more. EXCELLENT combination of politics, drama, reality and acting.
Best show on TV yet constantly interrupted by other programming come on CBS let the viewers enjoy this show
Madame Secretary has become the other show my 19 year old and I enjoy watching. NCIS being the 1st. Give the show another chance.
I am not a political junky, nor am I a great fan previously of Tea Leoni, but in this show I feel she has found a niche, and they have made some other really smart casting and plot choices. I look forward to watching. It is a smart, thoughtfully done program which is a rarity these days. What could they possibly replace it with? Yet ANOTHER cop/tormented investigator drama dripping with corpses? A reality show pitting kids against pets for prizes, what? Thank you, I would rather cancel my cable and play scrabble (and I don’t like board games much… Read more »

It would be a giant mistake for CBS to cancel the show. Everyone speak to raves about it and looks forward to the next installment.
The show must go on!!
The Best in TV,.Sick about
infidel,scandal and blood.
I feel that Madame Secretary is a terrific show. I was a big fan of
The West Wing, and this is very reminiscent of it. It always contains plots that coincide with actual world events–great for political junkies like myself.
