CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.
What do you think? How would you like to see Medium end? Should some of the characters die or should Allison lose her abilities? How about Joe and Allison finally getting a good night’s sleep?

I’m very disappointed this show is being cancelled. I love the family, the kids and clever remarks the kids say. It actually makes marriage look wonderful. It’s what I look forward to Friday nights for. What a disappointment! If only more people watched it they would find out what they are missing! How sad!!
I was so upset to hear that Medium is being cancelled. It is one of few shows worthy of me DVRng each week. I wish there was a way to vote instead of the networks depending on ratings, which aren’t always very accurate. The number of shows with any substance left to them seem to be dwindling. I will miss this GREAT show for a very long time. Maybe if enough people object, the network, or another network will bring it back.

I am so sad that my favorite all time TV show is being cancelled. Thank God the “Mentalist” is running. Please—————— bring back the “Medium” don’t cancel it. A true believer in Alisson’s abilities. Such chemistery between Allison & joe & the entire family dynamics also the connection with her working peers. Thank you for your consideration.

I keep track of my TV viewing each week and have been watching for Medium, one of my favorite shows. CBS has not been forthright in letting us know what is happening to this show. One of the best parts about it is the great relationship Joe and Allison have, and how patient Joe is. It’s not like Father Knows Best, but it does represent a good solid American family. What are you people thinking?
I don’t want to see medium end. It still has many possibilites left. the girls can do some private eye work along with the mom. I love the way joe loves his wife and daughters. reality shows don’t do it for me. please reconcider leaving it on the air.
I’ll miss this show. I’ve watched it since the beginning. Yes I agree Allison can be headstrong and hotheaded but it also has bothered me that after being right 99% of the time her boss and husband often questioned her visions??? what’s up with that??? I’ld be working her toward dreaming about the winning lotto numbers…LOL. And what was with Joes’ mom dying and saying she sees dark times ahead. Will the writers leave the show on the edge of something we never find the answer for. I truly hope not. I would love to see them wrap it up… Read more »
Long overdue.
I loved this show and I think it sucks that it is ending. I can not stand all of the stupid reality shows that are on.It is like this generation has no imagination and anytime something good comes out it does not last……
I am very sad. It was my favorite show on TV. When Ghost Whisperer was cancelled that was bad but this is devastating to me just ask my husband I have been so mad at CBS that I told him we are not watching cbs anymore. What is the real story why is it being cancelled?
Please email me and let me know why????
Medium is a real quality show. My wife and I especially enjoy the relationship between Allison and Joe. It is written so well and seems so real. The stories are very well written and we enjoyed the ongoing development of the daughters’ psychic abilities. It is sad that this excellent series will end while so many mediocre shows will continue.
Some shows become part of your weekly routine because they represent “family”, friendship and people who survive against all odds. This show always encouraged me and made me feel a little better about my own existence each time the credits rolled at the end of an episode. It’s clear that executives make uninformed decisions and don’t consult with the public before canceling a “loved” series like The Medium!!!!!
This is the only show I presently DVR for myself every week. I am a mother of 2 girls, 3 and 1, and I don’t have much time for T.V. To say that I’m disappointed about the cancellation of Medium would be an extreme understatement. This one hour a week of TV was something I looked forward to with anticipation. I don’t want to talk about how the show should end because I don’t even want to think about it.
The Medium has always been my favorite TV show. It is one of the few programs that has some substance. It makes you think. I certainly hope some miracle will happen and that the show will continue.
Amber dubois may have a good ‘story’ however, she can be seen as egotistical and hot-headed. This is no woman which displays any form of class and likes to amplify this by claiming herself as grade A. There are a lot more people in this world that deserve for their story to be told. Let’s endorse them.
I completely agree as do many of my friends who saw the real Allison Dubois on the last episode of Housewives of Beverly Hills. She appeared to be either putting on a show for ratings, or insane. That says a lot about Camille. Allison helped confirm the type of person we were seeing Camille to be.
I am sad this show is going for all the reasons noted before me….As to how it should end??? Here’s what i believe should happen….since all the girls and Allison are psychically gifted something should occur where there visions coincide and Harry Potter & friends swoop into the dream when low and behold! they are in another dimension of knowledge and law and technology and Joe fits right in …. and if Ariel decides to stay in this world/dimension then she can somehow (trainstation wall? wormhole?) travel back and forth…and this place their dreams would be just dreams and their… Read more »
