CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.

CBS has just lost another devoted viewer! Medium is absolutely my favorite show ever! I am disappointed and deeply saddened.

Medium is one of the best shows on CBS and television in general. I, along with many friends, has always looked forward to each and every episode since the preview date on NBC. CBS should be welcoming another season instead of putting it on the chopping block. Hello out there in big business. WE WANT MORE OF MEDIUM!
No, we love that show and we cried whenever NBC dropped it. When we found out that CBS picked it up- we rejoiced! We watched Ghost Whisperer and Medium. It was our Friday night date shows.
When you put a show on Friday from it’s winning timeslot, and it has to compete with the CW’s Smallville series Finale Season at the same time, no wonder it would see a viewer drop. I would like to see any other great CBS program do the same. They would have a viewer drop. What an excuse. CBS, you will loose me as a viewer.

Please do not cancel this show. I love to see Joe and Allison interact. They are such a strong TV couple. The kids are great. Bridget reminds me of one of my own girls….by the way we have three daughters just like Allison and Joe:) This is more than just a TV show it is a glimpse into a world all of us wish we could dream about. Isn’t bad enough there is nothing on TV? When you find something you like they take it off. Not worth paying for cable anymore. Ridiculous
I hate to see this show go! We’ve already lost Ghost Whisperer. They’ll probably replace it with a vulgar mouth reality show where everyone is screaming at each other, with most of the words bleeped out.
There’s hardly anything worth watching left on TV.
WE really like Medium.. Hate to see it end… Hopefully someone will pick it up if the cast wants to continue…
NooooO!!!! NOooooooo!! DON’T CANCEL “MEDIUM”!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! This is insane. “Medium” is one of the very few shows I still watch on a major network. Most of the other shows I watch are on cable channels, like USA (“burn notice”, “psych”, etc) …. networks which don’t cancel shows on seemingly odd whims like this. I don’t get it. What gives?? I agree with so many of the comments on this site about what a great couple “joe” and “allison” are — and I love the kids, too. Medium is one of the two TV shows I consider worth watching.
Why cancel one of the best shows on tv. A family that loves each other a couple that know what vows are. No bad language or nudity or filthy suggestions. Just one great show.

I am so upset – I looked forward every week to this show and was happy CBS picked it up. What is their problem? This show was great and very entertaining. Is there anyone else who can get it and keep it going. We have seen the kids grow up – but there is surely plenty more dreams for Allison. I even watch re-runs of it and of Ghost Whisperer. Please someone don’t let it end!!!!!!!
