Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

I loved this show! So disappointed that abc cancelled it. Time warner can go ahead & drop this channel again not worth my bill going up when this was the only thing I ever watched on it. Now i dont need it anymore. How could u not like this show? I need to know what happened to her in the end! Who has her?!!
I am so disappointed that the show was cancelled. There is no way anyone could say the show was not any count. It was filled with suspense and drama and it was an amazing show with amazing acting. I would love to see it come back on the air. I hope and pray another company picks it up. Plus it ended with the mother missing so come on now we need to know what happened to her. I know she didn’t go through all he did just to leave her son like that.
This was action packed and very intense! I really looked forward to it coming back and can’t believe it has been cancelled, so sorry to see it go especially with all the other crazy mess thats on tv please re-evaluate this and bring Missing back and Ashley was & is phenomonal!
We just loved the show! Can’t believe this show was cancelled and they air so much other junk! At least this show had some substance to it and a story plot. I am not much for serial shows but this one had both my husband and I hooked. Very disappointing – maybe another network will pick it up. Love the show , the cast but not happy with the cancellation of such a great series.

I am soooo disappointed!!!! I loved the show. I can not believe it was cancelled. It was the only show I looked forward to watching all year. Please bring it back !!!!

Ref: “Missing” being cancelled ? What the H…!!! This show is a showpiece. The excitement, action, dynamic casting all around, and blasts proof that Ms. Judd can out-act 90 percent of the shows on television today. Why such a great show? Give this one another shot to pick up their audience. Powerhouse and one I looked forward to each week. Cannot believe ABC…… Missing deserves to be re-discovered!
I love this show and there are shows out there on tv that are just awful and those should the ones taken down. You have cancelled two of my shows Secret Circle and now Missing come on. Bring it back and more people will watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
Well can’t say I’m surprised…anything good on ABC is Always Being Cancelled! Off the Map and now Missing…It really is a shame for the corporation and a huge disappointment for the fans.
My husband and I watched The Missing every week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great acting and action. Hate to see it go off the air. Hope it will be reconsidered.

Very disappointed to learn that ABC cancelled “Missing”. It was gripping and entertaining. The problem with viewership ratings may have been timing, the time or day of the week it aired. Those who watched it loved the series; it may not have had enough exposure. Too bad, I too hope it’s not replaced with another mindless reality series.
