It seems the fog has burned off. Spike has cancelled The Mist TV show after just one season. Based on the Stephen King novella, The Mist first premiered on Spike TV on June 22, 2017. The Viacom-owned channel will rebrand as “Paramount Network,” in early 2018. A few months prior to its first and only season debut, Kevin Kay, president of Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT said the new TV series had “potential,” and that they would renew it for season two, if the first season found “success” on Spike.
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Mist stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Frances Conroy. After the Copeland family’s daughter survives a brutal attack, an ominous mist overwhelms the town of Bridgeville, Maine. As it spreads, it threatens the very foundations of the town.
The Mist: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Mist averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Because The Mist was the cable channel’s first original scripted series, we don’t have ratings data from other Spike TV shows to which we can compare it.
Deadline has confirmed The Mist cancellation with Spike.

Who ever made the decision to not renew has no idea what viewers really want. Maybe they should look at the writing on the wall. People are flicking to Netflix and Hulu because the programing is original and caters to the viewers. I hope the show will be picked up by Netflix or Hulu and if it is I will definitely be watching

If Spike’s canceling season 2, then I think Netflix should or Hulu should buy the show out and make it part of its’ Original shows listings!! I really like this show and want another season!! I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way, and besides not everyone has the SPIKE channel, it’s probably why they don’t have a lot of viewers or higher ratings etc.
I NEED SEASON 2. We’re like a billion in my family so who needs viewers? PLS SEASON 2

Just finished watching season 1 of The Mist on Netflix. Really hoping they relook doing a 2nd season. Would be horrible not too. There is so much left unanswered. Please oh please.
It’s too bad there won’t be a season 2. It just left us all hanging at the end of season 1. Figures that they won’t wrap it up. No surprise there.

Finally a GOOD monster picture and it’s been cancelled. REALLY! I enjoyed watching something monsters instead of zombies. Pity!!!
Personally I Loved the progression of the show, it builds slowly like a fine wine with age. The show is now at a point where they can make something of the story with the fact that the train turns up throwing prisoners off and there is unresolved personal issues too. A second series can bring out alot more of the terror and horror accompanied by a juicy bit of government involvement, come on all that liked the show, lobby for a second season!!
how can you cancel a show that wasn’t finished? Should have at least gave it an ending.
