TNT recently wrapped the first season of Monday Mornings, their latest medical drama. Should it return for a second season or be cancelled instead?
Monday Mornings follows the lives of the talented yet flawed doctors at the Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The title refers to the tough peer review meetings that are run by the hospital’s sarcastic Chief of Staff. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao, Emily Swallow, and Alfred Molina.
The show started off the season with just 1.36 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than half of what the Dallas premiere lead-in drew with 2.98 million and a 0.8 demo rating.
The numbers for Monday Mornings didn’t get much better as the weeks wore on. The season ended up averaging just 1.39 million viewers and a 0.3 in the demo.
Given these numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Monday Mornings will be back for a second season.
But what do you think? Would you like to see the show return for a second season or do you think it should be cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on with a bigger audience? Was the title a problem? What would you have called it?
I have had Monday Mornings on my calendar since the very first show…my wife and I did not miss a single show even when we were on vacation!!! Please renew!! Excellent cast, story, everything!!!
Monday Mornings is a terrific show with a superlative cast. Please don’t cancel it! It’s one of my favorite shows and the best doctor drama I’ve seen in years. Better than House and certainly superior to Grey’s Anatomy. Please renew it!
Iam a 44 yrold black male and I love it .
With each episode of Monday Mornings I become more addicted to the characters and the stories. They tug at your heart strings when a patient suddenly dies and when one survives. We the viewers deserve at least one more season. Bring it on David Kelley!
My husband & I loved “Monday Mornings.” We saw every episode of the season. It was intelligent, insightful and realistic… a favorite that we hope will be continued!
‘Monday Mornings’ is a GREAT show! Please keep it going.
Love this show….my favorite! Please don’t cancel
Finally a show that entertains and makes one think about the moral and ethical dilemmas of medicine. Now it appears that it may be cancelled. Hopefully the writers will find another audience worth their talents in a better time slot.
Please, please, please don’t cancel this show. It is such a great show. My husband and I love the fact that we can both sit and watch something that we both enjoy. We are so sick of all of the junk that some networks air and really enjoyed the fact that TNT chose to air such a good show. Give it a chance!! We need a second season!!!!
Please renew for a second season – best medical series – as good as House.
I HOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE WITH YOU. WAS A FAN OF HOUSE SINCE THE BEGINING. MONDAY MORNINGS IS A NEW HIT . I EVEN GOT MY DAUGHTER AND HUSBAND TO WATCH. SHE RARELY WATCHES TV. SHE LOVES THE SHOW ALSO. TELL TNT TO KEEP IT ON
Loved Moday mornings..hope it is not cancelled……please return it..

This was the show that I looked forward most to watching – PLEASE renew it for another season!
A great series……great cast, great stories. I miss it already……don’t cancel.
My husband & I had watched Monday Mornings from the first day it was on and never missed a show. I liked it and thought it was more different than other shows, it was more about the every day Doctor’s in an hospital and what takes place all the time. It was different from all the nude, violence, cussing, blood, stupid shows, affairs from people that are shown all the time in some kind of program. I hope that you will bring it back because TNT has started to get good shows while other channels are getting the bad programs.… Read more »
