Monsters of God is in development as a potential series for TNT, and the pilot now has its female lead. Deadline reported that Lauren Ambrose has been cast on the drama.
Deadline revealed that Ambrose “will play Cynthia Lancaster, wife to Dillahunt’s Col. “Terrible” Bill Lancaster, who despite the peace between the Comanche and locals sets sets out on a quest to kill off every single member of the tribe, bringing wild chaos to the town of Slater. Cynthia, meanwhile, will let no one get in the way of her obsessive quest to institute her wildly feminist ideals. Cultured, strategic and ferociously ambitious, she’ll go to great lengths to show that she is not defined by her role as Bill’s wife. She has an agenda that often conflicts with her husband and has the potential to radically redefine the frontier culture they live inside.”
Ambrose is not the only person joining the cast of the pilot. Deadline also reported that Kwame Patterson is joining the pilot in a potentially recurring role.
Deadline revealed the following about Patterson’s role:
“Patterson will play Oatis. He and his family are freed slaves, but they experience limited and conditional independence working for Lancaster as personal servants. Oatis discovers something awakened inside himself and goes on the hunt for something beyond a small taste of freedom.”

Typical. Not interested. Sick of shows like this. They love making certain people play the oppressed. There were others that were slaves too. Love showing people like the two leads taking over things
