CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O’Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned!

I loved moonlighting it was very easy to follow and kept me in suspense for the next time. You have to put it back on it gave us something interesting to watch for us die hard vampire lovers.

I LOVE THE SERIES OF MOONLIGHT, BRING IT BACK, I NEED TO FIND OUT IT BETH AND MICK WILL STAY TOGETHER AS A COUPLE IN THE FUTURE. THIS SERIES SHOULD OF NEVER BEEN CANCELLED. WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT BACK.
Chemistry is Hot between Mick and Beth!!with the fame of twilight it would be crazy for you to cancel…The fan base is there,,wait for it..We TWilight fans love that we can watch “MOONLIGHT” every week…It will catch on and run like wildfire if you let it go you will miss a Big money maker…Beth and Mick have what it takes to make us keep watching…bring it back

Okay Hi… I live in The Netherlands.. and am rather peeved off that they cancelled the show! Come on people! It rocks! There needs to be a second season… they like left it with and open ending! not fair…!!
