TV show description:
This crime drama has a unique twist in that it doesn’t focus on who committed a crime, but why the crime was committed in the first place. As the mystery unfolds, winding between revealing flashbacks and present time, viewers navigate the twisted and complicated maze of each murder, solving the puzzle alongside the detectives, piecing together more of the mysterious connections that drove the killer to commit murder.
When a murder is committed, Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) are on the case, looking for clues that will lead them to the killer.
Sexy and feisty, Angie is a thirty-something single mom from the wrong side of the tracks who proves that appearances can be deceiving. Oscar is intelligent, thoughtful, methodical and confident. He comes from a wealthy family and turned his back on an expensive Harvard Divinity School education to join the police force (a change of heart from his initial choice of joining the priesthood).
Others on the homicide team are: Doctor Betty Rogers (Lauren Holly), a medical examiner with a quirky sense of humor that belies the grimness of her daily job. Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom (Roger Cross), the Squad Room Supervisor who was sidelined from the streets a few years earlier by a bullet. Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny), a young eager beaver detective and newlywed who’s eager to learn and is fascinated about the often grisly procedures.
Angie doesn’t suffer fools or authority figures lightly. At home, Angie only wants the best for her teenage son, Manny (Cameron Bright), who is one of the few things in life that she feels she did right. But as far as Manny’s concerned, being the son of a cop is not the easiest gig in the world.

What do you think? Do you like the Motive TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
This is one of the few quality shows left. If you get rid of everything I like,
I’ll get rid of you and join Neflix. Not everyone wants to watch series based on
cartoons or reality shows.l
What? Best show on in the summer! Goes glove in hand with rookie blue!
Don’t cancel another good show, Motive!!
Love this show! Please bring back.
I love Motive and was looking forward to a repeat season this summer. You have now ruined summer tv for me.
I love this show and have been looking forward to seeing it all summer. I hope ABC will pick it up.
i think it should be renew good show
Love this show. Was looking forward to it coming back on in the summer just to find out ABC dropped it from their schedule. Just figures! Really hope another network/station picks it up. So disappointing!!!
This show is always entertaining. You care about all the characters major, minor. The plots are inventive and interesting. Please don’t cancel it. We need all the grownup series we can get. One more reality series and I may sell my TV and stick with by books.
I enjoyed “Motive” especially during the dull rerun summer. The acting was good and the plots were interesting to follow. The two stars worked well and there were enough subplots to hold the viewers from week to week. It would be great to see the show renewed.
I love this show
I love the show. Great cast. Some of the best drama on TV. The different spin showing who is the killer and who is the victim really pulls me in to watch the details and outcome. The detectives working together as a team to watch out for each other. The team have a lot of dynamics which add an appeal to the show. Attractive group!
Moving to Canada for the better shows. Motive is a good show so is Rookie Blues who will also only be shown in Canada.
The U.S. Is just dumb reality shows that are useless.
Rookie Blue starts 6/25.
Please bring this back for season 3 of Motive. Love the format and looks of this show.
It seems that TV Shows get cancelled unless they are reality crap. It is so disappointing that a good show is cancelled. Sick and tired of the only thing on these days is the Housewives of somewhere or having Bruce Jenner shoved down our throats
You’re absolutely right, I’m tired of those reality idiots who have a platform on TV whenever one of them breaks a nail, turns into front page BS. The shows that have merit get removed because those watching the transformation of Bruce Jenner, WTF! I’ve seen great shows take a hit because the line-up producers place them on late at night with no promotional hype, until it’s too late and then pull them off the screen…Bring back Motive, either on TNT or AMC where they may have a chance.
