Will Nashville fare better in the ratings than ABC’s quickly cancelled Cop Rock series? The critics have sung this new show’s praises but we’ll have to wait to see if the viewers agree and if they’ll keep watching.
The first season of Nashville typically airs Wednesday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The drama’s cast includes Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Powers Boothe, Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Robert Wisdom, and Judith Hoag.

Compared to last year’s Revenge premiere in the same timeslot, the network was down by 15% in the demo (vs a 3.3 rating) and down by 10% in viewership (vs 10.02 million). This wasn’t a terrible start but it’s not a great one either.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Agree with so many of the other comments here….I was excited to watch Nashville tonight, and it’s a RE-RUN. WTF. I’m sorry, I miss the days where you saw a new show every week in a series, and re-runs didn’t come on until the summer. AND the re-runs were in order. This is a great show on every level, but ABC needs to realize that when you don’t air new shows, people who like the show get frustrated and lose interest. Makes. No. Sense.
Nashville is such a great show. Must keep it going, for sure.
Great characters. Especially the role Powers Boothe plays.
I look forward to it every week; and agree with the comment
on to many re-runs this 1st season. Signed, Canadian Gal!
I love this show! I look forward to it every week but I have become increasingly frustrated with the reruns. ABC is sinking it’s best show by rolling out the reruns every week. This is a great show so what’s the deal ABC?
Best new show this season!! It better not be cancelled.
Love Nashville! Please don’t cancel it!
My his and and I both love the show and watch it every week. We DVR it because its on a little late for our work schedules and we love fast forwarding through the commercials. We hope the show stays another season. 🙂
I love the show and look forward to it each week. I think the singers are awesome and fresh new music!
I like the show but the never knowing if you are going to see a first run or rerun is awful the music ive been hearing is good and i’m not really a country music buff but I do like this, I’d like the show kept on its a nice break in some of the others!
Keep the show!!! Stop with the constant re runs!! I look forward to the show every week, and couldn’t be more disappointed when it’s not a new episode. Great cast, great drama, GREAT SHOW!
I absolutely love the show. In fact, it is my favorite show and the only one I watch religiously. I cannot believe that the TV station is showing repeats. That is so disappointing after waiting all week to see it. Its like a good book that you don’t want to put down.
If NASHVILLE is loosing viewers it’s not on the viewers It’s onc the TV Station. We never know when it’s going to be a first run or a rerun. It’s Irritating. I look forward to seeing NASHVILLE every week to only be disappointed because it’s every other week a rerun. Whats up with that!! We the peopl/watchers get frustrated and just quit watching. I personally think it’s a WONDERFUL show……
love the show
Leave it on!! Love the show!!
Stop with the stupid re-runs though. Really annoying! What happened to the shows running new episodes Fall to Spring with the re-runs in the summer? It’s bull! Can’t even tell when a new one will be on. Was all excited to watch last nite and it’s a damn re-run! I turned the TV off! That’s why your ratings go down, not because of the show!
That’s EXACTLY the way I feel! I just do NOT get it! It seems they networks don’t mind playing all of these creaking reality shows time and time again and coming up with newer dumb shows but actual series of great shows are constantly on reruns. There use to be a time where reruns ran during the summer. But now they will run reruns for 2-3 consecutive weeks. That’s why the ratings are down. I record the show but I hate seeing week in and week out the nothing new was recorded. Scandal is the same way. I also liked… Read more »
Why is it a rerun 3 out of every 4 episodes!?!?! The ratings will NO doubt go down because people will assume it’s another REPEAT!!!!!!! It’s set up to fail, dang it!!!
Would love to see Nashville renewed… brings a new country vibe to the popular musical-style shows right now. A bit more advertisement for country fans could bring in more viewers
